Anyone take payments on cues?

two things, you cant make $$$ where there isnt $$$, i moved to Vegas because the economy was good and wstarted making $$$, it was like I was on vacation getting paid, i dont gamble in casinos.

Second thing I have done in a couple places I lived, I would spend alot of time in the pool room and buy cues for $250 and sell it for say 325-$350 and then wait for another cue to come along, one time I had about 6 or 7 cues which is nothing compaired to the internet cue sales sites, but this was before the net, I had a reputation of selling good cues and not robbing people, they would refer their friends etc the D to C- players were my customers. I would buy a cue back for what they paid me if they traded up, I made reasonable $$$ doing that. After I built a good reputation people would come to me or wait til i had something. it started feeding on itself all 3 times I have done this in different citys,

my friend does great tip work, and makes nice $$$$, i just cant do tip work but if you can get a tackle box, tips, tools, and practice and get good and you'll awalys be busy if your good.

just a couple ideas for you, just trying to help, good luck with what ever you do, honesty is the ONLY policy. Unless your matching up in a one pocket game. ;)

Had a job. Worked for the last 40 years 7 days a week and sometimes 10 to 12 hours per day. Also worked side jobs to make a little extra. Gave me that extra spending mad money. Also helped going to night school using the tuition refund plan to get a degree. Am now a lazy FO that is retired and enjoying life. Try it. You will like it.

TAP,TAP,TAP. Me too! Working, raising a family and playing pool. Guess we made an investment by working in our earlier years so we could hopefully enjoy ourselves when we retire..as long as our health co-operates. The time has come now and I'm lovin' it!!

:) LOL Book ! ........ Sounds like you worked hard and long and earned it. Hope your retirement is going great. I'm hoping to live long enuf to enjoy some serious goofing off myself.:p

Thanks. Life is great. Have good health and can pay my bills. 2 years ago the engine in my truck gave out. Changed it myself to save a few dollars. People thought I was crazy. Justified buying a cue with the money I saved. I try to do everything myself. Feel that I can do it better and if I goof it up I am still ahead even though I might have to buy the material again.

When I started working a "old" timer told me the best way to kill time is to work it to death. Great advice.

I now tell everyone that I am a workaholic and belong to Workaholics Anonymous. I am doing great. Haven't had a job in 3 years.
