Anyone try the lighting bolt 12oz j/b

they definitely take some getting used to but they can break the balls up real good once ya get it down. the jump cue is awesome. I have two lightning bolts. mainly because im friends with the guy who invented it. If you are interested in one pm me I can hook ya up for a good price on one

I have one and I love it. Makes my case nice and light. Breaks good.
Got to laugh at myself during the practice strokes. It's like there is nothing there.

I like it, but I can break with anything really. If I were to sell it, I'd take $120 for it.

I break with a lighter cue then I play with but only by 2 ounces. I have never tried anything as light as 12 ounces. Do you really feel it is that much of an advantage? (Please explain) Have your friends tried it and what are their opinions? On Amazon they sell them for $185.00 but there are no reviews yet. People are usually pretty quick to give opinions so they must not be selling any or there would be reviews.

If the main concept of the cue is the very light weight, that is pretty easy to accomplish. Doing nothing more then coring the butt and the use of a light screw can get the weight down to that. The butt can be filled with an expanding foam and once it has filled the butt and hardened just remove the excess that has oozed out and cap the butt. If this concept does prove to be the real thing, look for every cuemaker to be adding an ultra light break cue to their line.

:D

There is no advantage. It just makes me smile every time I break 'cause it's like there is nothing there.

The girls love it. The weight of a cue is all hype just like layered tips, low deflection high deflection shafts,
layered tips, and now we have cue extensions.:lmao:

Can't wait to start making cue extensions and selling them for $40.

My new break shafts seem to be a big hit. Breaks as good as the big boyz shaft and only 1/3 the cost.

I would not call an extension a gimmick. Pool players can be from under 5' to well over 6' and they both play on the same equipment. An extension is a real equalizer for many players. I have had one forever. When ever I used it the first reactions is a snicker, the second is they want to try it. Now with top players using them they have become main stream.

I've had one for over 7 years, great jump cue however not so much for breaking

Okay...it may be a fad.

Just the in thing to get.

Yes we've had extensions for a long time but not to use all the time while playing.

I think it's an Earl thing. People want to play like Earl.

And now...it's an easy way to make a buck while it's hot.
Ray Martin had a set of extensions that were different lengths that went in between his shaft and butt. may years ago. I played Miz in the early 80's and he was carrying an extension that went on the butt end of the cue way back then. That is over 30 years ago. Could be people are just catching on to this very good tool.

I made mine and it screws on to the back of my cue. Takes just seconds to put on and remove. My extension is the diameter to the measurements of where I like to hold the cue mid wrap. It is designed just for me and works perfectly. Trust me, it is an advantage. I would say anyone who doesn't own an extension is a sucker and is giving up something in a match.
