I have my shafts marked for BHE pivot points for various types of shots. I used it when I first discovered Dr Dave's site. Helped me out a bunch as I was learning to adapt to heavier bigger balls. I've never dabbled with FHE much. Probably because I don't use LD shafts that much.
What I do now is just get down with my tip aimed at where I want to strike the cue ball and sort of auto compensate for the effects playing with side creates. What goes through my mind when looking at the table is where do I want the cue ball next, what spin do I need to get there, what precise point am I going to hit the cue ball, I pick out the line of aim, then visualise hitting the cue ball where I intend at the speed I intend and sort of imagine the offset my cue will have to be at as I get down to make the cue ball travel along the line of aim I picked out. This sounds complicated, but it takes me a split second. Is there a term or wording for how I compensate for playing with side?
