Have you considered changing the lighting to an adjustable LED? Commonly 2700, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 bulbs are available and will change the green considerably. Amazing how overheads with lights of this type changed the color and character of my artwork, more than I could have guessed.I wanted a traditional look and went with Simonis green. In hindsight if I really wanted to ‘turn back the clock’ incandescent lighting and dark green/spruce cloth would have been more fitting.
Now I realize good lighting is priority, so I’m considering changing to a 5k perimeter light and tournament blue.
You're the second person to use the name "Apple Green" to discribe a Simonis color. Since I want to be sure we're talking about the same color, if you look at https://www.simoniscloth.com/color-styles/, which one is it. I assume its Simonis Green.I’m just now catching this thread, last week I spoke with the mechanic who does work on my table, told him I wanted to move to Green. He showed me the “apple green” from Simonis…. I ordered it up immediately. It’s as if English green were a couple shades, lighter, like you might see on a really old table in a bar that actually has windows or something. It looked fantastic to me and I’m going to give it a try. It’s going to go on a gold crown three. Good luck on your quest.
Look for a Mark Gregory Centennial... it'll show Apple GreenYou're the second person to use the name "Apple Green" to discribe a Simonis color. Apple green is not shown on their website color chart, but I know it may be available in some blends. It is certainly brighter than Simonis green, but some might say it is too bright, especially if you have very good LED lighting on your table. You're the second person to use the name "Apple Green" to discribe a Simonis color. On a 9 foot table with good lighting, I think it is just too bright. Simonis sent me a 1‘ x 2‘ swatch of apple green which I laid out on one of our tables next to our tournament blue and a number of players agreed that it is simply too much on the eyes.I will be at my mechanics shop this Friday. I’ll have him lay it out on the 7 foot Rasson table I will snap a few pics. It’s very well lit in that space, stay tuned.

A few things .... it's up to the player as to how dull/bright a cloth should be. My eyes need bright...I'm currently playing on a Gold Simonis and Grey Simonis. I never liked blue or green.. The Apple is a personal like or not. The Simonis Green is pretty when new.On a 9 foot table with good lighting, I think it is just too bright. His tables are too nice to play on. The fit/finish is as nice as it gets.Beautiful table, with any cover!
Is 5500k what makes shark grey look like gold cloth. My wife hates green and blue cloth so I told her I might go with grey but two rooms I’ve played at the grey cloth looks gold. I’m going to tell my wife it’s going to be tournament blue and she doesn’t have to enter my pool roomAs with all colors, lighting is the key component. (Somewhere I learned that ancient civilizations sometimes ground up emerald and ingested them to improve eye site. Green (warmth) was known to be soothing to the eye).
This is the table light that caught my eye. it is 5500K and CRI of 90. My only issue with it is that it's not color adjustable.
Blue is the only other color I'll consider at this point.
