My wife and I were at Don's bar and grill last night and I was telling him about AZ. The conversation lead to his wondering if anyone here might like to play him some 9 ball or 1 pocket at his place for nothing bigger than $20 a game or so, in the near future.

His place is right off of I-80 in Des Moines and he has a 9 ft Gold Crown table. He said he's looking to get his game into shape but can't find any takers here in town. He'd like to do it for several days to a week so he can get back into form.

In case you don't know, Don's one of the great players of the past and would be expecting a pretty high caliber player to go against, not just anyone.

Don's a great player. Who wouldn't want to play him for $10-20/game 1-pocket? If I was in the neighborhood I would love to play him. I would encourage all who loves 1-pocket and will be around that area to do so.

Scott Frost learned 1P from Donny. I watched them play almost everyday for about a year. That's the year Scott went from small to big.

Anyone else need some lessons?

I saw Don for the first time in about 10 years back in the Fall in Olathe. I don't know how he hits em now, but there was a time Don played very sporty. I always enjoyed his game. I thnk most all always respected his game. I wish I were in the area for a few days.

He still hits 'em well. Amazingly well. I'd play him but I'm just not good enough for what he wants.

well what does he want, I mean go find a pro in the area, its like oh I want to play someone good but I can't find anybody for 20 bucks a rack, so that means he probably isn't looking to hard to find real competition, so he wants someone good, but not too good, he wants to get his game back in stroke, but against someone he can beat, but thats good, but wont gamble for that much, but will gamble for a little....geez.

Did you even read the first post?

Don will play anyone in the world and give him/her more than they probably want. He's not looking to make money or give spots or woof or anything...He just wants to play tough for a week or so. He tried to play Shane when he was in town a few months ago but Shane wasn't hanging around for long enough so they didn't.

I told him I'd ask on AZ to see if anyone was willing...That's it.
