Anyone with snooker cushion replacement experience?

I have a 9' Brunswick Heirloom snooker table coming up in about 3 weeks. I will be dismantling and recovering with Simonis 760. The customer bought the table 30 years ago and thinks the cushions may need replaced. I have recovered several snooker tables over the years but never replace cushions.

Does anyone have that expertise here? What's the secret to meshing the K55's with the snooker bends and getting a good, clean "joint"? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Post here or P.M. me. Thanks!!

It will definitely help if you are using the sanding disc attachment to really square up the end of your cuts. Most important they are square and smooth.

We dry fit the bends first, then use reference marks to figure length of
cushion. Place cushion and ends on very flat surface and fit together using
superglue to bond. Start at the nose and then the top, then bottom.

install as usual using reference marks for placement. We have done quite a few and in our opinion it is much easier to fit off the rail then on.

You will have no problem with this.

John, here's a little trick for you buddy. When I use the FB10 glue to install cushions for pool tables, I let it dry until it has no stickyness to it anymore, then I attach the cushions lightly...and I say lightly because that allows you to pull the cushions back off if needed to realign them...without pulling the glue off as well...OK;)

NOW...with that being said...when installing the snooker bends or 3C step rails....keep the glue wet when applying the cushions...that way instead of sticking right on contact...you can slide them around and get them ligned up before the glue sets and want's to hold the cushions in place;)

Trust me, pre-fit the cushions and bends together after marking the placement
of which cushion goes where. The bend are always thicker than the cushion.
Once you have the bends and cushion together, just line them up straight and you'll
like the job. John's way is a lot less headaches.

You're right, John described the best way of getting the cushions lined up right the first time, kind of like measuring twice....cutting once:D

Thank you for the replies and helpful hints. I'll give it a shot as it sounds pretty straight forward. I already figured I better measure and dry fit first. And getting them faced off to match up is a must, I'm sure. I appreciate the help so thanks again!!

When marrying the 2 sides I taper them ever so slightly in from the nose down so when you put them on there is a tiny bit of pressure between the two at the nose. Its easy really as Scruffy mentioned but the hard part will be putting on the cloth without wrinkles. I found my steamer useful for that and provided that little bit of extra stretch. A mist bottle will work as well. The bends are soft and trying to get them with no wrinkles and not distort isn't that easy.
