anywhere to play in west los angeles?

Why is there such a dearth of pool halls in west LA? The only half decent place I can find is House of Billiards on Wilshire.

Anyone else know any better? It doesn't make sense to me how there are tables every 2 blocks in koreatown but only one decent place on the westside. I live closer to LAX, and there's pretty much nothing here. Sad.
 
Hard Times, or Hollywood billliards. No close, but not too far.

HOB is pretty much it for good pool halls on the west side. If you shoot 9-ball and want to play some cheap sets let me know.

FB, you've outdone yourself with a real classic! Presumably you meant "publicly", since the pubic area is quite something else...:D On the other hand, if you DID mean the other, then I think you're a card, and need to be dealt with...[groan] Keep 'em coming, ole buddy!;)

Wow sounds pretty sweet. Unfortunately with the condition of the 405 (I live few miles north of LAX) I probably can't make it a regular spot, but can't argue with the rates there. 3/hr single player. until 7pm. Gonna check it out. Thanks :D.
 
In West LA, House of Billiards on Wilshire/19th is all there is for a good poolroom.

Otherwise, you can venture further north on the 405 and try the House of Billiards on Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks.

Hollywood Billiards is nowhere near WLA, so I'll refrain from recommending it. So it's either House of Billiards or bust. I'm curious why you're looking for places other than the House of Billiards on Wilshire? It may very well be my favorite poolroom I've ever been.
 
Isn't Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica still open? They have Gold Crown tables there. It's on the West Side only a couple of miles from HOB, in the Third Street Promenade.
 
This Is Funny

I lived in LA in the late 80's and it is a big city to drive in but what is funny is this, if I lived their NOW I would have no problem whatsoever driving an hour to play pool and get in action, I know an hour in LA during traffic might get you only a few miles but I would travel at different times.

KC is getting better for action, but the place for the best action here in town, is almost an hour away, which most all will drive.

My point for posting is that I would be in heaven if I had MANY choices to play with lots of action, and if I was in a city with lots of pool halls to choose from I would be thankful for what I have, some people in the country have no place at all good to play at or no choice at all and would be willing to drive an hour.

When I lived in florida on the gulf coast my buddies and I would travel up and down the gulf coast to play and get in action, panama city, fortwalton beach, pensacola, mobile alabama, tallahasee, dothan alabama, now thats alot of places to play at but they I assure you are not next door to each other, usually 50 miles apart or more up to 2 hrs. It was great to travel across I-10 and meet other players and get out of our own town.

I just came from a place where I would see a dozen girls who looked that good (or better) every night. And I am not exaggerating! :D
 
Ya....I hear ya Jay!!!!!

My buddy met a girl while in PI, brought her here and married her.

He is happier than a pig in slop.......:)

I will be planning a trip there someday soon, as I will be single again soon after 18 years of marriage.

I'll be hitting you up for info on where to stay and play some !!
