APA Finals Question

Hi all
Not to be presumptuous or anything (i.e. presume my team will make it to Vegas), but if one does "get to Vegas" for the 8 ball tourney, do all teams stay the entire week ?? To get to the heart of the matter, if you get bounced the first or second day (never been, so I don't know how long it takes to get through two losses, etc.), do you stay the entire week or fly out early ?? If you stay in town all week, sounds like quite the receipe for disaster, being an old pro at the city that never sleeps. Any insights ??

Regards,
tim

you can stay as long as you like. apa will pay for your room long enough to make it through the whole match. i never been there for team finals but i was there for singles and they way they worked airfare was that you booked you own flights and when you got there they gave you cash when you registered based on where you flew in from. i came from nj, i think i recieved $300. in reality in cost me $360 for a direct round trip flight.

APA only pays for Singles. Your area league operator probably has a part of your dues as a travel fund, so he books the rooms and flights for the team events.

As far as leaving or staying, it is up to the person. Sill it cost you more to change your flight to an earlier departure, or to stay in Vegas for the extra 2-5 days? With the extra fees the airlines are charging now days, it could be a close call. :(

You ask a good question. I will have to ask my league operator. My team is playing in the regionals this weekend. We plan to win a go to Vegas. I could report back to you what happens, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. What happens if I have two fives and neither can stay for the week? Can one play in the early rounds and if we keep going can the other show up to play while the first guy leaves?

yea our LO gives you a certain amount of money and it's the captain or someone on the team to book everything as cheap as they can so they have some extra spending money.

If you were to lose on first day then you can change your flight and leave early but like someone said, it could cost a lot to change your flight and might not be worth it.

But you have to make it there first, I would worry about that after you qualify. Good luck, we are playing this weekend also to try to go to vegas!!

No doubt, winning three matches against the best is a daunting task. However, someone has got to go. When I watch horse racing, I say to myself "yep, this guy's going to win". Very rarely does. Lesson ? Life is strange and unpredictible. Best of luck with your playoffs this weekend and have fun.
