And after bar pool, they still won't know

Knowing that the balls are round and there are 6 holes on the edges of the table is not "learning about pool" hehe.

Lt me rephrase it,then. If it weren't for pool being available in bars, most people would never play pool at all,and the interest would be even lower than it is now.

the average person who plays pool in a bar doesn't do it regularly or support the sport in anyway i was slamming the average bar player and all goofball bar rules. The apa has rules that aren't terrible. It was also a jab at the guy who posted before me who wants to write a book about bar pool its awesome
Rules and ram shots.

apa brought me back playing pool!
I had quit pool, lost interest got tired of low stakes gambling ,then got married kids etc.
Working guy asked me to help him out and play apa 9 ball,
enjoyed playing having a beer and socializing .
Since been to vegas 2 times singles, once for doubles and on 3 teams
My wife plays nowand I play at my local pool room 2 or 3 times a week!
I enjoy the new friendships I have made!
these would not have been possible without APA!

Everybody's gotta start somewhere, and I'm willing to bet more league players come out of bars or social clubs (glorified bars, mostly) than they do pool halls.

You can say the same thing with any good league system. I think most of the posts here are against "Bar Play" more so than the APA. Although of the leagues I have read about and heard from players, the APA is on the bottom for me.

ok let me make this more clear one more time. I have no problem with the apa. I have no problem with the rules, most of them anyways. No problem with apa players or the bars they play in. Don't like regular bar players regular bar rules. I play apa masters. I play 1 regular apa league nite out of a bar with my friends its a great time. But I also play 2 other leagues a 14:1 house league and a bca house league apa is on the bottom of my list. So one more time. I have no problem with apa rules players or bars. Is that clear enough

Without bar pool the pool community wouldn't last a month...

I think a "league players" subsection would be a good idea. It would certainly generate some interest ( as shown by some of the recent APA posts). It will even be busier once the other leagues join in . As long as the "my league is better than your league " mentality is avoided.......

Yeah, posts like that should be against the rules and banned. In my humble opinion that section would also be the best tool for recruiting casual players in more serious pool, so it should be expanded into "League, Casual and Bar Pool Section".
