APA questions

Need some basic information about APA

Do they usually play on 7' tables?
Are their tournaments on both 7' and 9' tables?
Does each league have a franchise owner?
How many members are typically on a team?
Is the usual game 8 ball?

I've had no experiance with them but some questions came up recently and
I'd like to have the correct info, thanks

Mostly 7' but depends on the area and place they setup league in.

Yes league is part of a franchise.

There are 5 matches you play, I don't know if they have an average player number a team but you need at least 5 players. If you have lots of players that don't show up all the time, you probably want 7 on a team.

There is both 8 ball and 9 ball APA so not sure what "usual" is. I would guess that there are more players playing APA 8 ball than 9 ball though.

I can only speak from experience in my area.

You play on what the host location has. In my area locations mostly have 9' tables, so that is what we play on.

The upper level and national events are played on 7' tables.

You would have to confirm with the APA but I believe all have franchise owners, except for St. Louis which I believe is owned by the APA.

Normally 8 per team for 8 & 9 Ball, 4 for Masters

Again this is area specific but ours offers 8Ball, 9Ball, Master and doubles leagues

Size of tables for local play is determined by the hosting venue. In my case, 9' Brunswick GC's, Robertson Black Max's, or Diamonds...

Higher level tournaments are played on 7' tables, as that is basically the "lowest common denominator."

You can have up to 8 players per team for 8 and 9 ball leagues, but only five of them play matches on any given night. You are limited to set up your team such that max handicap total for the five playing = max total of 23.

League Operators buy franchise rights to develop and run leagues for a specified geographic area. Not sure how that's determined.
