There are a lot of names on that list and before anyone goes around and boycotts products or services let's try to figure out if EACH person knows that their name is on there and agrees with it.

Lots of posters know people on the list personally, and some of the people on that list post here, so If you are a person on that list add a reply so that it can be understood.

For instance Lenny knows Scott really well so he would know if Scott actually signed off on that. Because he did or didn't add his name to the list, it would not keep me from buying a one pocket DVD.

JA seems to have the 30-45 crowd who are his peers and respect him (as they should). I would be curious to see whether SVB (important statement) and the 50 something crowd of past champs (Earl, Sigel, Varner etc). Without those guys then it would crush the event.

Hence the point of the thread, if you have any way of knowing if any of the players listed have 100% said they sign off on this then add it please

It's possible that when someone joins the ABP, he signs an agreement to be bound by the policies established by the Board of Directors. Rodney Morris told us in the radio interview that it was by vote of the Board that the boycott was decided.

If this is so, it would explain why it would be technically "OK" for the board to use a member's name on the boycott list without that member necessarily even knowing about it initially.

I just mention this as a possibility.

Interesting, thank you.

The 2 original listts that appeared in the billiard news on AZ and IP are listed here: http://www.azbilliards.com/2000storya.php?storynum=8882 and here http://www.insidepoolmag.com/201107...he-association-of-billiard-professionals.html

I have been contacted by a few of the players on the original list that have stated to me that they DO NOT KNOW how there name got on this list and they would like to have it removed. I asked them to contact the ABP to have this done and gave them the email address listed on the PR.

It appears the BIG concern some of them have is that they are being represented without ever being asked or agreeing to be a part of the ABP. This is all I was told and I will not name names. The main concern came to light with these players when they learned they will no longer be able to play in MaximBilliards.com Amateur events as they were notified by email earlier today of the ban that will take affect on July 31st, 2010 as mentioned in this PR http://mxmbilliards.com/2011/07/09/notice-to-abp-american-billiard-professionals/

Anyway, I hope the ABP gets the list straight for the players sake because as I understand the rules are that the players will be barred from Amateur competitions on the Maxim tour for 5 years after that date.

Here is a list of the names from that list. I have highlighted a few players names in BOLD that I think this will affect as they are borderline players and most likely not really considered pro's so please if you know any of them let them know about this ruling and the list.

That's a good possibility. Another possibility is some guys might quit the apb right now because they know the boycott was way too much too soon.

Thanks for the post Geno.

I'm trying to get past the speculation and conjecture to just get from backers, friends, etc. of people who for sure aren't game for this.

Saying I can't name names doesn't help but add more confusion.

The example of Lenny asking Scott would be my example of a very credible source.

I am on vacation right now but will put it past him when I am back in town next week. ;)

My name is Brian White. I'm not sure how my name got on this list, but I would like to be taken off the list to avoid any kind of amatuer tournament ban.

Brian, while I can not remove your name from this list (You need to contact the ABP to have thus done.) I can make sure you name is removed from the MaximBilliards.com ban list as a result of your statement.

Are you the same Brian White on this list or just someone named Brian White (common name)

That is the exact Brian White as is on the list. Brian and I have had many talks here on AZ and that is definitely his screen name not to mention the fact that we just spoke on the phone about this not less that 10 seconds ago.

Also, it is not a very common name in our sport. A simple search on the AZ Player finder will show thet there is only 1 Brian White. Link to search: http://www.azbilliards.com/thepros/2000playerfinder.php?letter=W&gender=All
