I just read the article about this event on the AzBilliards Home Page, in which Marcus Chamat will replace Tom Storm: http://azbilliards.com/2000storya.cfm?storynum=2521

I'm not familiar with APN, but when I went to the website to learn more -- http://www.americanpool-network.co.uk/shop/shop_details.asp?id=292 -- I noticed that "APN" stands for American Pool Network.

I'd be interested to know more about this invitational tournament. Are there any Americans competing, by chance, in the American Pool Network Invitational? And where is Bournemouth?

Also, I'm curious and would like to hear more about Keith Brewer from those in the know!

The only Bournemouth I know of is the seaside resort town on the southern coast of England. If you start out from London, it's about three hours by car along the coast traveling southwest. About halfway along the journey, you'll pass through Allison Fisher's hometown of Peacehaven, which is realtively near another popular English seaside resort town called Brighton.

It makes perfect sense if you are not American. In the UK they call it "American Pool" to indicate it is a form of Pool played on American-style equipment (2 1/4" numbered balls on 9' tables with square-cut pockets) and to American game rules (Presumably 9 Ball), as opposed to what most British people call Pool, which is 2 1/8" balls on 6-7' bar-style tables with rounded snooker-style pockets played to a variety of UK home-brewed 8 Ball rules.

This is just like how the rest of the World use the word "Football" to refer to what American's call "Soccer", and if someone outside America needs to refer to the American game (Which does not happen very often) they call it "American Football".

Some big news has just been released from the APN, Earl Strickland is confirmed to be playing at Bournemouth aswell!!

This is huge for UK Pool, hopefully this will really take 9-ball forward in the UK, the APN are going along the right track.

Wow, that is BIG news! That Earl sure does get around. :p

Is there a website available that those of us "on the other side of the pond" can follow for this upcoming tournament in Bournemouth!
