apology about my book

Lets see.. Stance section is great... inside and Outside the box is great.... Rhythm I can question but it is definitely a new way to establish it so I'll give it high marks... V grip needed a picture but it's in there.... You get a C- but you are answering questions so extra credit brings that to a solid B... Aiming I would have loved a little more on but in all reality it had some good info about inside and outside the body angles which is a new way to look at it so B+...

I think overall the Book is an A- and while it is a teaser for what is to come in the DVDs I think lots of folks really wanted the V in depth which is why you got some negative feedback... Do a video on just the V grip and send a link to it to the folks that bought the book and you have a serious winner.......

BTW... Not forgotten you just getting my teeth kicked in for fiscal year ends... I think I like the months where I only work 5 days a month way better than this.....

It is obvious that the vast majority who wrote in this forum, LIKE what Lee Brett offered in his book. I know I did. Personally speaking, I believe his book is one of the best books on the market about a pre-shot routine and the mental part of the game that he discusses is fantastic.

Because of Lee, I have been working on developing a pre-match motivational audio cd that can be used for every match. I am still in the development process but it has so far proven effective. Thanks Lee and all the coaches that came before you.

Renfro, your idea about the V Grip video is a pretty cool idea. I wonder if there is a "FREE" way to keep everyone from seeing the video, possibly by issuing different passwords for each person.

Then again, just as I wrote that, I wondered, if people see the V Grip and hear it discussed in detail, perhaps Lee will sell more books because of the video. So maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea if he provided it free on youtube. I'm not completely sold either way at this point.

Like most things, the grip is very important, it is not the complete solution to pocketing an object ball. It is after all, one of the four contact points that we as shooters have with the cue stick. (Got that from Lee's book, too )

Lee, I have a very nice AutoCad pool table modeled after my Gold Crown 9' and I would be glad to send you a copy of the dwg (autoCad file) which you could get any cad operator to easily make you drawings. PM me if you are interested in getting a copy of the table.

Are you intending on attending the Derby in January I might be interested in some of your time down there to add to my game.

Good luck

Dana in Indy

The idea of getting pool lessons from Lee at the Derby City Classic is a good one. I had one brief lesson with Lee and it helped my game. When I do another lesson with him, I think I will try to get him to work primarily on my cueing action.

Additionally, I would like to learn more about elbow drop.

I would like to apologize for anyone who is upset with my book and the lack of pictures etc. ...
I found lots of useful info in your book. The diagrams were not perfect but I think they are understandable. If you would like to do another edition of the book, I will redo the diagrams for you with the software that does diagrams like this:

at no charge.

As someone who has been writing about pool for 20 years, I think your book was a great first effort.

Lee,
I know you're from the other side of the pond and I don't know how much you know about Bob Jewett, but when Bob Jewett speaks, people listen. He is like the E.F. Hutton of the pool world. (Yankee joke).

Seriously though, this is probably the most generous & valuable offer you will ever get and the fact that Bob states that your book was a GREAT FIRST EFFORT, speaks volumes.

Bob is highly respected throughout the pool world by academics and hacks alike.

Bob,

That is an outstanding offer. I have been a fan for a long
time because it is obvious you love and study the game.
Saving an innovative writer is also indicative of great
support.

I applaud you and your offer.

Hang in there, Lee!

Your book has been on my very short list of books on my "wish list". I will be buying it. I'm sure the diagrams will be good enough to comprehend what you are teaching.

I wish you all the best!

Skippy
