The video is already up for free on YouTube. There is nothing to take away from Jason Shaw's record which is astounding but it's really cool that John got way up there, his knowledge is readily apparent in how efficiently he runs balls, creates break shots and key balls and keeps his cueball movement to such a minimum. You can really learn by watching him.
 
To run that many balls is amazing and should have made him feel euphoric, but to be that close to the record and not break it monumentally frustrating, especially because I think it's possible the miss was on a skid and not a scratch or lockup. All time great 14.1 player.

I agree.

Shaw runs balls with brute pocketing and cue ball skills. John plays 14.1 like it used to be played years ago. There's obviously a ton of skill and knowledge involved, but sometimes it feels like art.
