It's none of your business who sponsors them. They were fully entitled to play in the BCA as they were not professional american pool players - so take your jealousy elsewhere!
 
You english boys are making my point for me. Darren, Hill, Boyles are not BCA league players. I am sure if they want to match up, other American PRO players would be happy to oblige. If they happen to dust off the Americans then the Filipinos could be waiting for them too. They were nits for coming here to play in the BCA. I'll say it again, read slower if you cannot comprehend. Did you, or have you ever seen, any Filipino teams or players be apart of the BCA league tournaments? The answer, in case you still can't comprehend this is NO. Why? Because the Filipino players are not nits.

Secondly, IF I was to travel outside the USA......the island of england would be about the 162nd place in the world that I would visit.
 
Comparison to the Filipinos is ridiculous. The UK boys have only been playing this game for around 12 months and have very little tournament experience. Certainly not enough to consider themselves pros. Like Si says just put up or shut up as you are making yourself look silly now.

And the semi-pros who go to the amateur tournaments to prey on league players aren't nits as well? Come on. That's why there is a list of Masters and Grand Masters. That's why foreign teams are automatically in the Masters division. They build super teams just like we do.

Several of my friends are Master level players who are also devoted league players who have played together for years. They won their divisions at both BCA and VNEA this year against a lot of teams that were just put together for the purpose of winning the tournament and sapping out of the prize fund as much cash as they could.

The english players sponsor themselves which is one more reason they have to celebrate their victories.

You can't have it both ways - either Raulston, Kirkwood, Runnels, and the rest are nits as well or they are all semi-pros competing in the same arena.

Um, I doubt very much that you will find any group of American pros willing to run over to England and play the brits on their tables. Conversely, the brits are over here playing "our" game by our rules and absolutely kicking ass on all levels.

Sound like if you want to make some real money your boys need to A. buy an english pool style table. & B. practice on it in secret. and C. go over there and take everyone's money if you can. Otherwise, get over it.

I think the reason the Filipinos haven't competed at the BCA is because of the cultural barriers. They play league pool in England, the BCA has franchises there. As far as I know there are no league franchises in the Phillipines and even if there were there are still a lot of barriers for the to come here and play pool. I am sure that there are hundreds of capable Filipinos who would like nothng more than to come here and snap off a few amateur tournaments before tearing up the pro circuit.

There is no island called England that I am aware of.

That aside, very interesting reading this old thread and to see that some of these players have successfully made the plunge over there.
