Appleton playing for some big cheese

It sounds a little like that spot where the weaker player, in addition to his usual pocket,
gets an extra side pocket?

Spidey has an extremely entertaining post about that kind of 1-hole spot.

In fact, Spidey got all 3 pockets on his side of the table (both corners and side).
So he had 3 pockets to the opponent's 1.

The short version is: it's a trap. The weaker player will never get a decent shot at those extra pockets.
Not when you're playing a champion.

This is spot on and has been my experience playing a champ. They will absolutely suffocate you with lock 'em up traps. I never played with a spot, even a world beater, but then again I didn't win either - not even close. In a game like onepocket, almost everything that the weaker player does will be executed better by the champ and the result is that after a series of safes, the champ ends up with the one that locks up the rock in prison and forces the other player to take a foul or to sell out. There is usually no future trading fouls with a champ, imo, so one is inclined to take a flyer, as that is all that is left any way. And one can't win games shooting low % shots exclusively...

darron won 20 games at 200 game..... your right its no weight at all when playing champion, plus winner breaks, he just cut the ball over to his hole every break. he couldn't beat him two front to a back
