All of these hotels are in close proximity to Buffalo Billiards in Metairie.
The other CHEAPIE motels I did not list and always have rooms available, just not as desirable as these.... Sorry I won't list them. I prefer telling you of places where you'll be pleased with your nights stay or at least i hope you will be. Whenever I play in a pool tournament I try to get an INTERNET price at one of the NICER hotels. I don't mind paying a little extra if I can get a good night's rest without being woke up by partiers and such.
There are PLENTY of places to eat, all local eateries. Seafood is still king. Lots of restaurants in the local proximity to choose from. You can get recommendations when you arrive from just about anyone. Galley Seafood is you are a seafood lover. To go seafood Metairie Seafood almost a stone's throw from Buffalo's. He will let you purchase food outside, just be kind enough to buy your drinks at Buffalo's.
Everything is open and buzzing in Metairie.
New Orleans, Chalmette, Plaquemine Parish and St. Bernard Parish are still in need of much repair ALTHOUGH THE FRENCH QUARTER IN NEW ORLEANS IS COMPLETELY RECOVERED as far as I can see. Brennan's Restaurant, one of my customer's is doing well and serves a breakfast unlike anything you have ever had. (Bring your wife's milk money & your gambling money too.
Come the day before if you want to do some gambling although there may be a table or two available the day of the tournament as well. Buff tries to accomodate everyone. And don't be shy about gambling for CHEAP. There are LOTS of players who don't mind playing for $5, $10, $20 a game. Just name your specialty and if you aren't a champ we won't hook you up with one.

If you're looking to bet high, the pool police will have to run a scam, I mean a scan of your fingerprints to make sure of your profile and talent level.

P.S. If you run into a buzz saw that just really just grinds you up and spits you out on the pool table, tell Buff and he will get you some softer action.
