Joey - This sounds like a great time! Are the Diamonds 9ft or 7ft?

Here's a link with A Map to the Hall
Hope to see you there!

These are nine foot tables and forty players is pretty much a lock. Should be interesting.

Anything I can do to help out, don't hesitate to call. You can add a PDF as long as it's not too big, like with graphics and stuff. You simply hit " edit attachments", browse for the PDF file and try to upload it.If it's too big, it won't let you. If it does upload, you won't see it until you save or complete the post.

Call me if you have any trouble.

The PDF is 180 KB and AZ only allows 100 Kb. I don't want to reduce the size either. :-)

Thanks!

Buffalo has been too busy to mail them. Would you like a PDF file to print out and hand out? If so PM me your email address.

Thanks for the offer.

You could email the flyer to anyone in your database/address book that plays pool and enjoys seeing good players compete.
Thanks,

I have been spreading the word on this tournament and I keep getting the same concern.....How's the town doing? Us northerner's are hearing about all the doom and gloom (news media) in N.O.. Can you give a report on the area and the infrastructure. ie Hotels, airport,Bourban street, concealed handgun laws:eek: :) ....etc.

Thanks

Joey - The map link provided gives a different address for Buffalo Billiards. What is the correct address? I noticed the phone is the same for both.

yes the phone number is the same for both....

The map is correct: 3624 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA .

The Chalmette, LA location was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

Lots of hotels and motels available.

Cheapies are very close by but not the type of motels I would stay in personally although some travelers do.....

Next closest motels are also nearby..
Days Inn Metairie
3400 I-10 Service Road
Metairie, Louisiana
United States 70001 $ 79.00

Ramada Limited Metairie
2713 North Causeway
Metairie, Louisiana
United States 70002 $113.00

Quality Hotel & Conference Center
2261 N. Causeway Blvd.
Metairie, Louisiana
United States 70001 $89.00

La Quinta Inn New Orleans Causeway
3100 I-10 Service Road
Metairie, Louisiana
United States 70001-2091 $149.00

Hampton Inn New Orleans/Metairie
2730 North Causeway Boulevard
Metairie, Louisiana
United States 70002 $139.00

Or if you have the jing:
Royal Sonesta Hotel
300 Bourbon Street
New Orleans, Louisiana
United States 70130 $229.00 & UP in the heart of the French Quarter.

Residence Inn By Marriott Metairie
Three Galleria Boulevard, Metairie, LA 70001
More Hotel Information and Book Reservations
Starting Rate: $109

Marriott New Orleans Metairie At Lakeway
3838 North Causeway Boulevard, Metairie, LA 70002
More Hotel Information and Book Reservations
Starting Rate: $151

All of these hotels are in close proximity to Buffalo Billiards in Metairie.

The other CHEAPIE motels I did not list and always have rooms available, just not as desirable as these.... Sorry I won't list them. I prefer telling you of places where you'll be pleased with your nights stay or at least i hope you will be. Whenever I play in a pool tournament I try to get an INTERNET price at one of the NICER hotels. I don't mind paying a little extra if I can get a good night's rest without being woke up by partiers and such.

There are PLENTY of places to eat, all local eateries. Seafood is still king. Lots of restaurants in the local proximity to choose from. You can get recommendations when you arrive from just about anyone. Galley Seafood is you are a seafood lover. To go seafood Metairie Seafood almost a stone's throw from Buffalo's. He will let you purchase food outside, just be kind enough to buy your drinks at Buffalo's.

Everything is open and buzzing in Metairie.

New Orleans, Chalmette, Plaquemine Parish and St. Bernard Parish are still in need of much repair ALTHOUGH THE FRENCH QUARTER IN NEW ORLEANS IS COMPLETELY RECOVERED as far as I can see. Brennan's Restaurant, one of my customer's is doing well and serves a breakfast unlike anything you have ever had. (Bring your wife's milk money & your gambling money too. :-)

Come the day before if you want to do some gambling although there may be a table or two available the day of the tournament as well. Buff tries to accomodate everyone. And don't be shy about gambling for CHEAP. There are LOTS of players who don't mind playing for $5, $10, $20 a game. Just name your specialty and if you aren't a champ we won't hook you up with one. :-) If you're looking to bet high, the pool police will have to run a scam, I mean a scan of your fingerprints to make sure of your profile and talent level. :-) :D :D :D
JoeyA

P.S. If you run into a buzz saw that just really just grinds you up and spits you out on the pool table, tell Buff and he will get you some softer action. :-)

Ray

I just called and the bartender told me if they are pool players and play in the tournament AND YOU GUARANTEE THEY WON'T DRINK WHILE THEY ARE THERE, they must be at least 18 years of age. Personally I would want to hear that from Buff himself before I made the drive.
JoeyA

Joey, what is the latest?

Any idea how many players have committed to being there? I was coming for the easy pickin's but I have a killer hangnail and don't think I'll be able to play in the tournament. :D :D :D

Hu

The latest info is you can be 18 years of age and play in the tournament and that is from Buff the Stuff himself.

The other info is that MANY of the local players have committed to playing in the tournament. Some of those players can't run three fookin' balls but the ones they have are the size of coconuts and don't mind mixing it up with some good players. As always, the Louisiana boys don't mind making a little wager here and there. If you announce your level of play and it is confirmed, you will get played. If you want to skulk around, waiting for someone to get weak be my guest, there's probably a meal waiting for you too but you'll be the last as the supper table.

If you want to match up in advance let us know. Humphrey has already told Harold and Squirrel that they can get some of his action so you can get action from large to small. Even though Louisiana boys are known for practically giving their money away to road hogs, you have to at least give them some pre-warning about your level of play.

Hu, I have a guy from Poplarville, MS coming into town and I feel safe that you and he can get down and wallow in the pig sty. His picture is attached so you can get a line on him before you come down. I'm sure you will want to play him.
