Live on line brackets. We will also have up to 80 Diamond tables so we can run mini's and have tables available for practice

FYI Texas state masters no longer exist. If you were labled a Texas state master you are now an open player. From this point on we will great an Advanced division. It will be a division based with players at the top of the open division and hopefully the lower half of the master division. We hope this will greate a full division of equally skilled players, making all divisions bigger and more fair.

We at Bad Boys are always open to suggestions and opinions. Feel free to let us know what you think or feel free to ask us why we do things a certain way. Communication with the players is the key to success.

Are these new start times for Men's open singles and Mixed teams set in stone? It is a 9-10 hour drive for some of us. It especially affects the teams...as some players have to work like half a day on Friday and could possibly not be there in time Friday evening.

We have set these start times based on entries from last year. We had heard alot of complaints about matches going until 2 and even 3 am. The start times we set will finish play at midnight or sooner. This will allow more mini's and practice. We work with people if we know way ahead of time, maybe bump their match to end of round. But we will not put a hold on the event. This is the first time we have total control of this event, we want everyone to play.
As we do this event we will make all attempts to communicate to the players to see what will work best for all in the future. We hope everyone spreads the word about this event. The more that come play and see how we do things and the more input we get the better this event will become.
Thank you

Well...talk about dodging a question...lol...I dont think participation is a factor with this tournament...the turnout has always been good...if not great...considering the size of Texas and the travel that is involved. Here in Amarillo we have always supported the state events no matter how far we have had to travel, but these new start times could affect our participation, and I assume other cities it will affect also. I understand that "yall" need as much practice and mini's to take place as possible...as you need those tables making money...but please consider the travel time for some cities. I am not asking you to "hold up" the event as you stated...if people come this far to play...and they last long enough to still be playing at 2-3 in tha morning...then they are happy with there effort...just take all this into consideration...like I know yall will...cause yall do a great job at running tournaments...

Thanks a lot

Troyce

I believe the "Amateur" division is the new name for the "Trophy" division of the past few years, where anyone could play in it (instead of the Open), but you were just playing for trophy prizes instead of money prizes.

Chris, please correct me if I'm wrong.

The races in Men's Open Singles are 5 if my memory is correct. Men's Teams is 13.

It's always flip for opening break and alternate after that in all of the Texas BCA 8 Ball events.

That is correct! :)

Correct, the amatuer event is in place of trophy. Instead of trophies we are offering a low entry low payout to introduce players to competitive pool. It is not wise to have a trophy division that doesn't cover the cost of trophies.
We want to involve all levels of play. Please help spread the word.

Another Question guys

For Vegas I know that it say's we must have 3 original roster players on our team. What are the rules for state. For instance If I have someone that is in a BCA league and qualified but just started playing on my team this week are they eligible to play or do they have to have the required number of matches in with my team?

Also it came up last night at league: What are the required amount of weeks for State and Vegas this year? Last night someone was saying that it is 6 weeks now for state instead of four...Is that true?

Last but least why in the heck was this thread not on the 1st 2 pages?

hmmmm.

nevermind just read it on the entry form...still need to know about in the same league though or not...thanks in advance

Didn't Hear That

I didn't hear anything about a change to 6 weeks for state. Has always been 4 and for Vegas it's 8 weeks. The only time I see that get waived is for Active Duty Military.

They have to be from the same league. For instance you can't form a team out of Docs league and Swel when it was still going.

For the women they allow that since I guess it's hard to get womens teams together from the same league???
