Aramith Flag Set

Has anyone ever used this set? A buddy of mine bought them but isn't quite knowledgeable enough to tell me how they really play. Also, he ran into an odd problem with one of them. Some plastic coating on the ball is pealing. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas.

I wonder if that's a counterfeit set, if not Aramith is really going down hill.

I had a similar set given to me in the early 80's, they were called the stars and stripes set. The box said they were aramith but I thought they were kind of cheesy looking. I never used them and recently gave them to my brother to see if he could make something out of them on his lathe. My guess is they came out with them around 1976 to commemerate the bi-centennial.

I'm still trying to figure this whole plastic coating stuff out. Underneath it the ball looks like a normal shiny pool ball. I've never seen anything like it.

Well with the odd shell peeling I wonder if aramith will replace it. Hmm. I'll have to call them.
