Well i was lucky enough to be part of the Legends Tour and Lessons this afternoon. Johnny and Earl for 2 hours each. They both gave great instructions on different aspects of the game. Both are true gentleman and extremely entertaining.
Johny Archer spent his 2 hours analyzing your stroke and stance mechanics. He gave you advice as to what you needed to work on to solidify your game. He also really emphasized the importance of developing a consistant routine. He says when your game starts going bad always fall back onto your fundamentals and find your way back to your best game. The next part with Johnnie was playing a rack of 8 ball with him as he guided us through the thought process of which balls to take after the brake. He then worked us through the racks with every player showing us the proper patterns. Johnie was awsome and very conventional in his teachings. His main thoughts were to keep a basic routine, make every trip to the table the same every time. Learn your routine and every shot will be the same.
Earl Strickland was very technical in analyzing all of our bridge techniques. He taught us 5 different bridging techniques and the main focus on each one was that we need to eliminate the extra points of friction on the cue. It was amazing the difference the way the cue ball reacted after the friction on the cue was eliminated. More stroke power with out hitting the ball harder.
Earl has an amazing stroke and showed it over and over doing his powerful shot routines. I pulled of 2 of them but not with the action on the cue ball that Earl gets.
This was an awsome day. I havent really played pool in the last 5 years. The fun i had was something i will never forget. If you have a chance to get out there and attend this great event, dont miss out. This is for every level from beginer to advanced players.
It would be great to see more legends out there join up bring their knowledge to the fans of pool.
Thanks JOHHNIE, EARL, and MARK.
