Hi, Im looking at a Aramith Tournament Pool Balls Set at my local pool store and the guy tells me that this is the set that replaced the super aramith set I ask him whats better and he told me a better and longer shine? For another $75 ? Has anyone had experiance with these new balls? Are they worth the money? Thanks, TODD

I have a set of these Aramith Tournament Pool Balls from when the IPT was selling them in their (the IPT's) heyday. So I've had these balls for a couple years now, and I have to tell you, even with as much as I play them, they look as good as the day I bought them. I initially scoffed at the "longer lasting shine" thing, but after having to clean another set of balls I use with my BallStar, and not nearly as often having to do this with the IPT Aramith Tournament Balls, I bow my head and concede to the notion that it's true.
These balls don't scuff as easily, even when I was practicing masse shots with a heavily-chalked cue.
Is this feature worth the extra $75? Only your wallet can say that -- would you like to not have to clean these balls as often, or do you not mind cleaning them? If the former, the answer's yes; if the latter, well then obviously no.

They are not the same as the IPT balls. They use the same design but the Duramith finish is new. The balls look the same but are not the same quality. I called an Aramith rep and asked about this and they told me more than I wanted to know.

What most people don't know is Aramith uses different resins across their line of ball sets.
The new Duramith set is supposed to be the latest greatest bestest.
Just curious which Aramith rep you called.
Most people around the forum never hear back from Aramith with answers to questions.
I sent an email to info@saluc.com and someone called me back in an hour or so. I just said I wanted to inquire about the tournament set. I was interested in the cue ball that comes with the set. I did ask about the IPT ball set and that set has the same resin as the super pro balls.
