Are Custom Cues a waste of money?

You never seen a pro with a cue over 2K ? look at Ralf Souqets cue

I'd rather not. I can't stand watching him play. OK- a little bit of an overstatement. But I'd rather watch Earl or Ronnie Alcano any day.

Actually, if I had 25 pool videos to watch, each with two players different from any of the other videos, Ralf Souquet's would be the last I watched.

I have Dale Perry that I paid $150 for that I use at league. It probably lost a third of its value the first time I chalked it up. My serious playing cue is a Gina that will almost assuredly always be worth what I paid for it.

You tell me which was a waste of money. In my opinion neither was. For the price I paid for the DP I will surely get my money's worth out of it, and it plays quite nice. But there is no comparison to how well the Gina plays. I enjoy the game more with Ernie's cue in my hands and because of its investment value it essentially cost me nothing. So from my perspective I bought a DP that cost me $150 and invested in a Gina that probably cost me nothing.

Valid point until they both get stolen.

Ill admit Ralf can be brutal to the eye's But he is still and outstanding player. But you are right

Let's apply the same question here... These are both human females and the fancy ones usually cost ya a little more. Worth it?

Game, Set and Match !! How u gonna argue with this analogy ?? I'm sure if you eyes are closed and you were cuffed behind your back, you would not know the difference between the two. But does it matter.... God darn right it does...

I wasn't talking about his looks. I was talking about the way he lines up every shot twice and thinks about it for 30 seconds each time. I really wonder if it's just a shark routine.

Personally, I think shot clocks are too short for times when a player needs to take more time but Souquet takes pretty close to the max on every damned shot. In fact- he's the reason why a shot clock is necessary.
