Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

Perhaps invest in another one??
IF he got out to shoot at other places (and took the template rack with him) he would realize it's not his table that's the problem.

He is his own problem. No idea why he doesnt go out or is scared to out a vid of himself online. I can guarantee he plays better then a bunch of people on this site, hell probably me.

I guess I must have over-estimated things. I said earlier 30-40% with BIH. Then I changed that to 25-30% with BIH.

Since my back has been so sore for a long time I've started rolling 7-8 balls out on the table with medium difficulty and taking BIH instead of wasting my time breaking. Anyway, my runout %, it's more like 10% than 25-30%.

I guess it's hard to admit one isn't worth a sh~t. Apparently I'm not.

Welcome to the club. Enjoy your table.

Same. See my disclaimer.

I’m horrible now. I’ve accepted that and moved on, wasn’t easy but it’s what happened.

WE all stink at this game compared to those who play better.

Remember that we play for entertainment and enjoy that home table.

It’s yours so do what works for you. I’ve played on GC’s that underwent the “diamondized” thing and it just seemed wrong to me somehow. I grew up on Brunswicks as most did, and the place I’ve played the last year or so has Diamonds. They’re different things, I like both. Do what you will, but if it was me and I preferred a Diamond I’d get rid of the GC and get one instead of altering the GC. Good luck with whatever you do.

I finally got my Gold Crown IV set up 6 days ago. Using a Magic Rack and breaking at about 2/3 speed the wing ball goes in 90% of the time and the one ball usually ends up near the top rail. Like many I played on Gold Crowns when younger. First time I played on a Diamond it was just wierd. Took awhile to adjust, especially banking.

Now being accustomed to the Diamonds I wondered about playing on the Gold Crown. Even the first rack felt like going home. To each his own, but I love my Gold Crown IV just the way it is.

Your corner pockets are how wide?

A few pics of what I went with. My pockets are 5 at front of opening and close to 4 at throat. So far I'm happy because I can still force myself to go for center. My friends and I rotate to each other's homes. A friend has a 9 foot diamond with pro am pockets. I think that's 4 1/4. I like the table but most get frustrated with it. Im not done with my pool room. Had to go with garage. Oh well.

I don't agree with changing the cushions from superspeeds.

A well executed sub rail extension with new rubber though...a fine thing.

A real nice matte black GC4 is going to fall into my lap for about 3k. Are you happy with your Diamond over the GC4 that you got rid of? I’ll be getting sub rail extensions and probably Artimis. Not sure if I want 4 1/8 or 4 1/4 corners.

I bought my gold crown in a two for one deal with a friend and rkc did his table/ I kept mine as it was (even kept the used simonis for a decade plus. Buddy's table is fn fabulous. Mine was not.

So, yes. I am happier with the diamond, though it really never got used much, vs the gc.

I put Artemis on my GCI when I had the rails modified about 10 years ago. When I had my rails done everyone was putting Artemis on GC's, about a year after that everyone started using Superspeeds instead. I have nothing bad to say about the Artemis cushions, my table does not bank short like a Diamond, I don't know why but I'm not about to complain about it. I had intended the pockets to be 4 1/2", they came up about 4 3/8", 2 balls will not fit between the points like a Diamond, I definitely would not go any smaller but I play all games, not just 1 pocket.

Who did your sub rail extensions?
