im about to order an ob-1 shaft and need to know wether to get a piloted 5/16x14 or a regular one.. thanks

what exactly is the diffrence? is piloted rounded at the tip of the pin

notice how the brass insert is extended. Flat faced it wouldn't be. Schon shafts fit down into the joint on the butt with the extended ring on the shaft, making a pilot. At least that is how I've always understood it. A flat faced shaft, with the right threads will fit a schon, just won't seat down into the butt.
