I might be completely off base here but honestly I for one would like to see more pool halls posting a list of their top five or ten players based on rank. I think they should also put photographs of them by their names as well. I think that would actually put a damper on people sharking new people to the hall off the street. I also think that regular tournaments and money games like that would grow a business and build the customer base. Pool can be very addicting as most of us know. The idea of the bets being that large would be off putting to most people I think but the serious players could most likely swing it. One of the things I noticed in the show that would not work at least in my area is the bank rolling or steak horsing. The bets would have to be between players only. No third party involved. It is not seen as gambling a wager between two people on a game of skill. It is not a game of chance. You can bet as much as you like and put it on the light till the match is over. Seems to me that would actually promote more business. I for one am tired of seeing pool halls close.
