Are you a Keeper? Why or why not?

Probably about 10% of my collection are keepers.

For a wide variety of reasons ranging from sentimental, to being extremely desirable, to other personal attachements almost like why you'd get tattooed.

The others (70+) may come and go at will. :)

I guess I'm a keeper because I have grand delusions that they are actually going to increase in value over time......

Seriously though, I think I have some kind of illness that prevents me from selling.

Where DO you lot keep them all? 70+ cues must take some room, I'd imagine.

Not easy, especially when your girlfriends daughter moves in and you lose your "billiards" room.

Wait until you have to find a certain cue in a hurry because somebody wants to see pics, or you decide to move,
or you have to go through every cue to find a shaft that you mis-matched and don't find it until the very last case.
Cue collecting is tough.
Other than showing them off at the pool hall, the only good thing is when you can easily select another cue after the
tips on your everyday player wear down.

I wish I still had the 009 Dominiac w/ the Z shft and the Omen jump/break I got from you a few years ago...i figured I wouldn't play much after and got offered good money for them.. so now I just have a pretty case with the sneaky i put together over at chalks... I've gotten back into playing and am considering a nice cue again, but not sure lol there's so many nice cues out there plus I met Chris Nitti who lives in town, and he offered to build me whatever I want..lol its awesome just opens the palette ever more..

Good to see you posting here...hope things are going well for you, and I'm sure your collection is as nice as I remember or better..

If your ever in orlando area, give me a ring... we'll catch up and shoot some racks..

I have a/c regulated storage at my shop. I keep most of the bulk there since my insurance covers greater value of loss vs my cost and I can keep a seperate space maintained safely and very securely. Besides cues, there are a few dozen or more guitars and reasonably large collection of items the ATF would be exceptionally interested to know about. ;)

In my home generally, only stay about a dozen cues at any one time and a small selection of the 'other' stuff.

Chris Nitti makes a fantastic cue. If you can pursuade him to build you a box cue, you'll have a great player and the option to sell it later...I know there is at least 1 box cue junkie on this site.;)

Sometimes I order a cue for me forever
Shortly thereafter along comes an offer
I tend to stick to my nature
A salesman sells

Barry laughed in my face when I ordered a personal keeper
He said if its not from the Campbell loins ,its for sale

Laurie said the same thing, but she is still making me an ebony 9 point

I sold my ebony Mottey music cue today,
I loved that cue

But I got a Scruggs Hoppe today that I will never sell

Coming from an avid pool cue collector/seller, I have to say this: Dean. RIGGGGHHTTT. You really won't sell it? ;)

Come on

To heck with this thread Drawman
post those pictures of your box cues and start a new thread

I agree with you concerning chris nitti,he is the maker of fine cues
and a box cue from him would be a great idea

my guess is you have at least one
post those pictures and pm to tell me where

Gotta pay to see the hole card Dean. But you show your keepers and I'll post mine.

I have no loyalty to a cue maker.I play with a Predator,because I feel
like it will perform as long as I do. I still swap around tips every few months.
I still havent found a tip that plays good after a few months. I am on a
Moori again right now. i think too much loyalty to 1 product limits the
individual to discovering better equipment
