Since the recent threads about leagues killing the game of pool and recent arguments stating that leagues bring people to pool halls and the argument of leagues being very popular.....

If you take the time to take the poll....I want to see how many members fall into a certain category...

I play in barbox leagues and on 9 foot tables so I would say both. I think you will find alot of players play on both.

I know a lot of people that play on both.

I guess you just have to classify which tables you spend the most time on or which table you excel at.
 
I practice a lot on the 9 footers, but my only real competitive play is in a bar table 8 ball league
 
I'm an APA League player that plays out of bars on Barbox's on Mondays because that is the only day that works with my work schedule. I also play at a Pool Hall on Weekends whenever my friend's and I have time. Our League also has different divisions which host out of Pool Halls with 9 ft tables. So, I don't really know if I'm a pool player that has to play on barboxes for now, a barbox player that sometimes plays on 9 ft tables or what. I don't drink so the only reason why I play on barboxes is because of league though, so I guess might be a pool player:p

Actually, I think I'm neither. I'm just a guy that enjoys playing pool.

This isn't about who's better or play for as much as I want.

I just want to see how the popularity of bar boxes affect the game of pool and pool halls nationwide especially in an enthusiast forum such as AZ.

If half the members on here are bar players or APA players...then leagues do have an effect on this site and many rooms across the country.
 
I have no problem playing on both. I have a 9ft Diamond at home and play on both at the pool room. I think you need more options on your poll.
 
I prefer to play on 9 ft. Gold Crowns, I practice on 9 ft. Gold Crowns, but my leagues are on Valley bar box and 7 ft. Golden West tables.
In that the poll doesn't apply to me, I must abstain as well.

ROFL .. I would've perferred to see acouple of more options.

1) Barbox Pool Player
2) Barbox League Player
3) Not a Barbox Pool player
4) Not a Barbox League player

And instead of having it be one or the other, allow for multiply choice. Because there are people that do more then one.

I for one find this degrading, Because you are adding to the fire of saying that League Players are not Pool Players. We all have different views on what is considered pool playing. There is no right or wrong view of the game.

We are all here to talk about the enjoyment of the sport or is it a sport !!

Also, if you play APA barbox but have your own 9 ft table at home which category do you fall in? I know a lot of guys in my League that have their own 9ft tables at home, but still come out to the weekly APA Barbox league nights.
 
I'm not a league player but play mostly on bar boxes. Prefer the 9 footers but don't play on them nearly as much due to their being less accessible.

It's really not that hard.

They would be considered bar box players since a majority of their time at a pool hall is spent on the boxes or they excel at the box.
 
Alright, I play league on a barbox during the summer, I have an 8' table at home, I play on 9' tables every day during the winter in Arizona and occasional shoot on a 10' snooker table. The only possible answer for me is both.
