are you insulted that someone would play with an ob classic just for example on your cue??

how do you think it affects the playability of your cue
 
If someone want to use an aftermarket shaft with my butt, I'm still certainly OK with that. I assume the player knows the hit will be different.

You're assuming that the client bought your cue because of it's superior hit.
What if he didn't? (buy it because of the hit).
Are you even more insulted or are you glad that you sold a cue?
Does the client have to meet certain elements of your criteria before he can purchase?
Or how about having him sign a pledge that he will never use an LD shaft on your cue?
Here's another one for you to ponder.
"You can buy the cue but only if you promise to keep it in an InStroke case".

Your control over the cue left, out the door, when you sold the cue.
You have control over HOW the cue goes out the door but after that, it's not your concern.

I am not insulted if someone picks an aftermarket shaft for one of my cues. Some of them think it makes their cue play better and some go back to my shafts. Either way is fine with me.
 
I just built a cue for someone who wanted a Z2 and one of my shafts to match. So far he likes mine better but his eventual choice will be his alone. It's his cue.

You certainly have the question factors down. Not a bad thing. I am with the others on after market shafts. After markets shafts have made a very good contribution to this Industry as well as inspiring some Cue makers to offer their own version of lower deflection shafts. The bottom line is, no matter which shaft you choose to play with, You still have to play with it consistently and practice if you want to improve.

Insulted if: They use an after market shaft? Nope. Abuse the cue? Nope. Break the cue? Nope. Sell the cue? Nope.

Why not? It's their cue. They bought it, they can do whatever they want with it. I hope they love it, use it every day, show it off, and get me more business. But once it's out of my hands, I can't do anything about it.

If they tell me I make an ugly and/or bad hitting cue? Insulted.
