I visited Az. a few years ago and if Kolbys is not too far from there I highly recommend it. They are in Tempe I think which is only a few miles.

I don't know about those three...but there is a BCA league that plays on Wednesday nights at Stingers on Diamond tables.

Are you military?

Lot of Ret. Military in Litchfield Park...It is right down the street from Luke AFB.....The good news is...I don't think they practice at night and on weekends.;)

You are on the edge of a wilderness. They might have a league at the Quartzite Sports Bar. The west side is still Apache territory.

:welcome:

Just jokin'. Welcome to The Valley. You'll love it here.

The truth is you are about as far west of Kolby's as you can go without a burro and plenty of water. I'd say 40-45 min. But it is worth the drive.
Google ,"Arizona Pool Scene." Also P.M. Stuckart . He'll get you going.

By the way, if your playing on tables with drop pockets, check for scorpions first before you reach in for balls.

Kolby's is like 60 MINUTES in good traffic from Litchfield Park. You should have located on the EAST SIDE, the Westside has nothing great IMHO!

ya it looks like kolbys is right in the middle of town there, and i know thats mr frost's home court so i'll def be checking that out. i'm not military, theres a special little lady down there for me and i'm a trim carpenter by trade so i can take this show anywhere. i usually play 3-4 nights a week so ya drivein all the way cross town is a little crazy. couldnt believe how big that town is.

Ummm...didn't you hear that they de-activated all of those photo radars on the freeways? You can drive 80 again!!!!!

The only ones still working are on the rural roads....and mostly just Red Light Radar.

There is a bar/restaurant called "the deli" that has leagues in it as well as a regular tournament... 2 bar tables. May be one of the closer 'play' spots.

Don't let anybody fool you. The west side holds the best pool room in the entire state; maybe even the entire southwest U.S.

The name of it is Bull Shooters, and it has 42 tables; 13, bar boxes, 13, 8-ft. Gold Crowns, and 16, 9-ft. Gold Crowns. It also has a full service bar, and the best food of any pool room in town. It also has a full service pro shop (MINE )! This place also has leagues running in it six days a week, comprised of ACS, APA, BCA, TAP, and UPA. They also host tournaments for the Desert Classic Tour and the AZ Women's Billiard Tour, and will soon be starting some weekly open and handicapped tournaments.

And if that isn't enough for you, it is also the home room for the owner of this web site and these forums (he is here shooting with his buddy right now).

So come on in and visit us. We'd love to meet you!

Roger

If a bar is not an issue....a closer one that has bar box is a bar called "The Nugget" on 83rd Ave & ISR.

There are bars all over the city that cater to pool players. There are a few "True" Pool Halls as mentioned (Kolby's, Bullshooters) and few others that are close to "True" Pool Halls like River City, Click's, etc.

Kolby's would probably take about 30-35 minutes from where you are moving. I can get there in 45 minutes and I live by Lizard Acres.

If you are real nice, George might invite ya over to play on the really nice GC's in Sun City (Lizard Acres). And they have tons of tables. You have to be a member to play here.

As fas as leagues, check out my website: http://www.azpoolscene.com there is a link for all Phoenix type leagues. The best two leagues on the West Side of Town are the BCA Champions League (Run by me) and the Hot Shot's League (Run by Larry Eans). There are tons of leagues jammed into Bullshooters on any given night as well.

Hot Shots runs on various nights of the week and is all travelling leagues, so you might get to cover the entire city from one week to the next. BCA Champions League is an in-house on the only Diamond Barboxes in town out of Stingers Bar (43rd Ave / Peoria). Bullshooters is 1 mile further at 35th Ave / Peoria and is the new home of the Hot Shots league.

If you are on Facebook become a fan of AZPoolScene.com to get updated info on tournaments, leagues, pool rooms, etc.

Feel free to shoot me a PM or email at Jerry@azpoolscene.com with any questions or concerns.

Btw, Mike, the owner of this website and forum plays out of my league on Wednesday Nights and is more than just a web programmer, he can actually play too!

Thank you all for your help and advise.... i cant wait to get down there and meet some new friends and hopefully find a couple teams

poolhall

Go to BullShooters, 35th ave Peoria, 25-30 minutes, I live in avondale. Nice poolhall, good tables, i think about 18 9 footers and 12 or more bar boxes. Monday night is 9 ball on the 9 footers BCA and Tap has alot of leagues going on there too as well as APA. I like the monday night 9 ball, some pretty good players.
