Hey Dennis,

I am going to play in this event. I am playing in the Straight Pool league and have been learning the game a lot over the last two months or so. This will be the first Classic Tour event I have made it to but will not be the last.

The tourney is at Kolby's right?

Yes, it is being held at Kolby's. Be sure to make two events this year, so that you qualify for the Tour Championship tournament in December. I believe we are up to 5K guaranteed added already after the Tucson event.

I am planning on making the rest of them this year. Thanks to you and Jimmy for taking the time to make this tour happen. I sure do appreciate it.

Is there not also a ONE TIME TOUR FEE?
For those who plan on playing there is but I guess you really don't have to worry about it :)

You point that out as if it's negative. You already knew the answer to your question, so I'm not sure why you'd ask it, if not just to point out that there was a membership fee.

Care to point out a tour that does NOT charge a membership fee? Now, out of those other tours that charge membership fees, care to point out which ones give ALL of the money back?

Also, if you do find a tour that doesn't charge a membership fee, let me know how much they are taking out of the pot for other "fees" at each event. The only money that comes out of our entry fees is $5 to pay the tournament director. There are no green fees, administration fees, beer fees, nothing.

Fortunately, not all of the players in Arizona suffer from Chronic Cheapness, and we're still able to hold events despite our $40 tour membership fee [that we put back into the added money for season finale tournament].

My point was for the First Timers, and IMHO the Tour Fee should be mentioned. Tis great that the Tour fee or what they are called are payed back at the end.

Yes BVal I will not play, as $90.00 out of pocket for me is too much out of pocket for me knowing no way I would be in the money. :(

Honestly Jimmy, did you really expect him to say something positive? I have one word - IGNORE.

Negative no, just a little thing about $40.00 some first timer just might not have after driving from god know where at $3.75/GAL.

I was waiting for the Gas Prices to come into play. Who had the over/Under of the 13th post of the thread?

Come on man, just close up your computer and bring it back to the store. When they ask what's wrong with it, tell them you are an idiot and shouldn't be allowed to use one any longer.

I wish I could make this event, and others, but fortunately (Or unfortunately), I'll be out of town for the next 4 events.

Good Luck Brady!

What are the races too? 75? 125?

Gas prices are a factor for many unless you have a money tree in you back yard. Would it not be nice if it was simple to drill for all the Oil in the ground, without dealing with the nut job enviormentalists. Than maybe Gas Price would fall to reasonalble levels.

Thanks for the luck and I am not sure what the races are. I will be there no matter what the races are.

You are going to Wisconsin right? Maybe you can send Coco some cheese for his whine :D:D:D

I do not need to Cheeze from Wisconsin, California Cheeze is better, and you can get it at Trader Joes. I ain't I whining just asking tought question per the norm.

I really hate to say this but, as of now, the races aren't established. I will say this though: they won't be less than 100. If possible, we would like to have 125-point games but, if we get a lot of players, that might not be realistic. As much as I personally despise the practice of shorter sets on the loser's side, we may end up with 125-point games on the winner's side and 100-point games on the loser's side. We could just come out and say that we're playing 125-point games, but then I don't want to change it on everyone the day of the event if we have a lot of players.

So, to sum up that evasive answer of mine, they'll either be to 100 or 125, depending on the size of the field, with a bias toward 125.
