I currently have Superspeeds on my pro-cut rails and was wondering if they can be replaced with Artemis K-55 without mods? Or will that require a tweaking of the subrail bevel? I would rather not have to ship rails out just for a cushion change. Thanks!
Depends on quite a few things.
What’s the table. And how tall from bed is the top of the subrail Measure the width of your super speeds.
From the back side of feather strip (back of subrail where it meets top rail, from there to the cushion nose should always be 2”….so even if you had the right bevel the thickness of the subrail will matter as cushion widths change it will have the table not be 2:1 in ratio. The ratio of 2:1 is the most important part.
I take it your talking about the Artemis Intercontinental 66 (k55 profile)
It only works with early 80s and prior Brunswick as those superspeeds were narrower than the current superspeeds…those Brunswick’s should have subrail with at 1 11/16 high.
I just got done setting cushions on a late early 80s Brunswick Prestige 9’ and used the intercontinental 66.
A few weeks before that I recushioned a 82’ Brunswick classic that actually was a direct swap to the current superspeed.
If your using the Artemis intercontinental 66 the cloth control strip goes up, that’s on the flat side of cushion…..the curved side goes down (Artemis logo facing table)….it’s backwards of the superspeeds which have the control stop on the curved side.
I still have yet to install the cloth on the prestige. But I set the intercontinental66 with a center nose height a couple 32nds over the 1 7/16 superspeed install height.
even with that small height increase the Artemis is faster off the cushion than the classic I installed the superspeeds on fwiw.
They def are produced cleaner there was a lot more flashing (extra rubber from extrusion ) on the top and bottom edges of the superspeeds to remove prior to install.
