Does anyone have any experience with this cuemaker - Arthur Cue?

Cheers
the cues are known for thier low deflection (very) stiff playing cues!marcus's attention to detail on his highend cues is amazing!I have had a nfew of his very high end cues and they dont last long! ... he is the only non U.S. maker i will deal with! he is germanys best cue maker and I would put him in my top 5 in the world! I only wish i had more to sell:)

Living in Germany and having played arthur, eurowest and vollmer cues. I?d say get yourself an arthur, if you have more money left get yourself a vollmer.

@cornerstore: nothing against arthur BUT: ask 100 german pool players about the best german cue maker. 90 will give you the same answer:

Michael Vollmer
www.vollmercue.de

learned from BB Tony
cues are expensive
very popular for a good hit ("heavy knived-in points") like BB
(thorsten hohman won the WPC with one of his cues)
Example:

(scrawl to the middle of the page)

cheers

all three of those guys are grade A cuemakers..
Just b/c they arent in the States isnt a reason to pass up on a cue form any of them!

I only have experience with his Rookie (lowest end) models.
They play very stiff, have the modern slimmer butts and were well made.
The two I owned rolled laserbeam straight too, and they weren't exactly new.
I would have no hesitation to buy one execpt I prefer softer hits.

Very fine cues indeed. Construction and playability are top notch. I have recently purchased a high end Arthur and I am very, very impressed.

Arthur Cue

Marcus builds an incredible cue. If you haven't looked at his inlay work up close, you're missing something special. I would compare it to Bob Manzino and Tony at Black Boar.

Also, the lady that does his scrimshaw work is by far the best I've ever seen.

STOP!

unbeliebable!

Comparing Arthur to BB... i just dont don`t belive this!

Read my post above!

Edit: @Jimmyrayk This post is really not ment to be impolite or something like this... i just was a little shocked by your previous statement. I`m from germany and i played arthur, vollmer, bb etc a lot!

Kind regards,

hhmmm

I would some what agree regarding the craftsmanship because I have seen both of them cues. but performance, wise I'll decline to make any statement.

Its like comparing a BMW to a Mercedes Benz or more like a Ferrari to a Lambo

ooohhh...and btw, those vollmer cues are spectacular!!!

Just my two cents***

Nossi,

Look at the inlays on a Black Boar, look at the inlays on a Manzino.
Now look at the inlays on a Arthur. There is more than one way to look at a cue.

I'm pretty sure Jimmy was referring to the intricacy of the inlays.

Intracy of inlays was exactly what I was referring to. I am not sure why there was any negative reaction. I meant nothing negative.

Take care,
Jimmy

Well.. ok.

I was pretty mutch referring to the basic construction and playability. I mean... that 6point construction (heavy knifed-in) used by BB and vollmer is THE specification of the cue in my optinion. It gives them the hit they have and the basic look they have.

Just don`t know how to compare the inlays work of these cuemakers...

Edit: @Jimmyrayk: Well... turns out, we spoke about two different things... so let`s not mind this one ok? ;)

What would you choose in terms of pure playability - a plain jane Arthur cue or a plain jane Tad?

All it takes is one mention of Arthur and German poster come out of the woodwork:D

Berny,
New face around here.. Where are you from ?
