Article: What we need is a posh billiards parlour.

Many different variables merge to create pool hall culture. Think of gumbo -- every region and family has its own unique recipe, but the resulting dishes are, for the most part, all good . . . and, of course, hopefully the old saw "the worst I ever had was wonderful" will always continue to hold true. But, I digress . . . I really don't care to undertake a post mortem of pool culture, in large part because, hopefully, death is not at all near. I will assert, though, that the main, or common, ingredient of pool culture, the "okra" if you will, must be gambling, or else I have no idea in the world what I am writing about.

Actually 3 of the Retirement Comunities in West Valley have Bowling Alley with Pool Roons. Sun City AZ the original Del Webb retirement community has two such areas.
I can't remember which seniors park I was at in Phoenix , but the guy asked me if I wanted to see the billiards room when I was touring the park . I was expecting a couple of Olhausens or Connelys . When we went in, there were 9 new tables with leather covers on them, all of them were 9 foot pro Diamonds. I would have moved there, except the homes were so close together, I could have handed my neighbor the salt at dinner time, through a window, and never got out of my seat.
