As a practice experiment, I will start streaming all my practice sessions

Immonen vs. Klatt where he shot 9.90 is probably best pool televised. Klatt shoot 9.90 and lose ... I remember Incardona said same thing.

Johnny Morra is not what I'd consider top tier.

Alex would be, if you consider him Canadian but he was born in the phillipines.

I can't even name a 3rd Canadian pro. So yeah they aren't much of a factor in US pro pool.

Johnny Morra is ranked WPA-9...AZB money-8...BCA-8
He's Fargorated at # 45....777...tied with Hohmann and Ekonomopoulos.
...your 'top tier' doesn't have much room in it.

Alex is a Canadian citizen and travels on a Canadian passport.....
....and he says 'Eh?' a lot

I think it's an honor to be ranked in the top 128 in the world.

Actuallllllllly......

Klatt shot a .972 in the Open which doesn't happen by accident... If you don't consider his speed pro you are out in left field.... Well actually you are so far and out I don't think it's still called left field anymore.....

His other numbers which do show a longer race are mid 800s... Journeyman pro... .900 and above is world class

I agree his best game is as good as it gets. Klatt is a great player, no disrespect here.

When I broke and run a 7 pack, I must have scored 1.0 right?

In pool it's not your best game that defines you. You have to win with your average game. That includes your worst game. Think Mike Siegel said something along those lines.

Defining Pro speed is tough. To simplify all things in pool I just ask if they would like to bet on their opinion. That tends to clarify things.

I know several players who can play with and beat the best players in the world and I'd never consider them pros. They don't make a living shooting pool. That's what the label of pro should entail.

So can one shoot pro speed without being a pro?
That's what Sam is setting out to obtain.

Now the question is what defines "pro speed"?

I'll start off and just say pro-speed to me is anyone that can beat the 9-ball ghost in a race to 7.

Anyone else?

I think that's a little light

Beating the ghost with ball in hand after the break? If that's what you are saying is pro level, I'd also say it's pretty light. I owned the ghost with ball in hand after the break. There's 100 shortstops I wouldn't play even.

Beating ghost with break only meant the player broke and ran over 50% of the time. That game beats most anybody in the world any day of the week. Your break has to be completely on and you need to see the one probably 70 percent after making a ball. That's superhuman really if a player does it with any regularity.

There's a world of difference between the 2 games above.
