Asking for CNC recommendations

asking for suggestions. I have no experience with CNC’s. I have over 20 years experience as an IT systems engineer so I’m not overly concerned with figuring out the computer side of things. I currently have a couple midsize lathes, one setup for dedicated tapering. I also have the cue smith inlay machine. I’m considering making the jump to CNC. The ability to taper with this machine would be a plus. What would you suggest for a CNC machine to get started?

You wan't a machine just for tapering or do you want a bed style cnc so you can mount a shaft spinner and a rotational axis on it?

Turn key systems for our needs is very limited indeed. I'll send you a few suggestions by PM. What's your budget btw?

I was hoping in the 4-5,000 range, but I really don’t have an idea as I haven’t done a lot of research yet besides the machines that are available from the cue machinery suppliers.

You will see the 4-axis Chinese 6090s are the starting point in that size range, I would defer to others if the more expensive builds are suitable for your use case (are you a hobbyist or a professional).

Just a hobby for me. I’m trying to streamline my processes as my amount of time in the shop is limited between a solid repair business, kids, and the real job.
