As far as the rest of what you had to say, I have to believe you did not read what I wrote carefully enough. Nowhere did I write that poolrooms pay full retail for the tables we purchase. I was simply quoting the RETAIL pricing for comparison sake. A more fair comparison , I will admit, would have been less misleading being that most dealers will discount the MSRP.

Once again, I feel you are reading things into what I wrote if you, for one minute, think that I implied that I felt I could get anywhere near retail for my tables. Warehousing won't be needed for long once I decide to sell. That's why I started this thread. Remember? I'm looking to get and give a FAIR price.
Thanks for your input...I think.

Gene, I gave you a really accurate market-estimate for a used GC III and you responded with a tone that suggested I was full of it. I think the responses here show that the market is leaning more my way than yours but if you think you can get more, go for it. They're YOUR tables and you should keep them until an offer to your liking is made. It seems as though you already had a "fair price" in mind prior to posting so I don't really know what the purpose of this thread really was.

Anyone looking to open a room is going to go with new tables unless used tables offer a significant savings so you're looking to sell to private homes if you want more. If that's the case, your price is going to need to include shipping and installation since most private owners are not going to want to go through the trouble of set-up.

I wish you luck and I'm sorry you're going to have to sell them in the first place.

I want to thank you all that have responded so far. This has been interesting to say the least. Keep the quotes coming.

I believe one thing that is important to remember is the relatively low years of use on these. GC III's were introduced well over 20 years ago. With this in mind, I believe age has some bearing here as to the value.

Bottom line though, it always boils down to the amount the seller is willing to sell for and the amount the buyer is willing to pay.

Exactly and you have to compete with all the PR's which went under the last year and also with the homeowner who just has to get it out of the house quick. Id say a slim majority of home tables wind up as laundry holders.

If you can get $1500.00 for each and every one at one time FOB your warehouse, I'd say you did better than most.

The upside is they probably wont lose much if any further value for the next 10 years.

No offense Gene, but you've gotten several responses, all from different areas of the country, and all relatively within the same price range. What is it that you want to hear? Like you, and others said, the tables are worth what people are willing to pay for them...and in this case that's between $1000 & $2500 each. That a LOT of wiggle room, but you're not going to get more than that. It wouldn't matter if the tables were BRAND NEW, and had been 'stored' for 20 yrs, you still would not get more money for them. GCIII's are not a much sought after table, and the demand and sale prices reflect that. Sorry if that's not what you'd like to hear, but those are the facts.

No offense taken Scott.

All too often people with something to sell look to get an unrealistic price for their item. I am simply doing my homework before I sell my tables so that I can give and receive a fair market value for them.

From the people that responded, those numbers came out to an average of between $1450.00-$2133.00. That, my friend, is what I wanted to hear. I had no preconceived notion of how much the should go for. That is why I started the thread. I must admit that I was taken back by the first poster suggesting that they should sell for $1000.00. But other than that, I was very open to the experiences of others.

Thanks again.

Gene
