Atlanta players for ABCL

Had the pleasure of talking with Richard Sweet the owner of Mr Cues II for about 3hrs the other night and can see why Mr Cues II is one of the busiest rooms in the country. Rick has a gr8 feel for the game, the players and the biz. He agreed to host 8 players and referred me over to Cues Billiards and Terry Stewart, another nice room, love the set up. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Terry as I caught him off guard and in the middle of payroll, lol but he's a player, understood the concept easily and agreed to also host 8 players.

Normally its 8 per city but Atlanta has a lot of good players so we're going to try and get 8 at each location BUT put them in different regions, one towards the Al TN side and the other towards NC SC side.

If you want a spot yourself or know a player that should have a spot have them call Richard or Terry to get their name in, I know I filled one spot as I unexpectedly ran into my old friend Bucky :) I've known this Tiger since he was about 16, 17 yrs old and showed a lot of heart anytime he came to Providence.

Also heard a few "Nobody is around to play but I guess our bartender Stevie will play some" stories, lol

Okay lets fill these 15 spots to get a strong Atlanta group.

Sounds like you are working hard hitting the road to pitch this. I sent out a quick flier on FB to some Wisconsin players and got tons of responses. I wonder if there is a quicker way to get the message out so you don't have to personally travel the country to get it expanded. Unless you are just trying more of a soft launch roll out to work out any bugs.

I love what you're doing and I hope it expands very quickly. Hopefully some Wisconsin/Northern Illinois rooms will be contacting you or Mark soon. Don't know that I'd make the top 8 in any of the rooms, but I'd be happy to be in the next 8 fighting for a spot in one of the next sessions.

Thanks Eddie, the toughest thing about all this is putting the right players in touch with the room owners. Room owners in general are very busy people and high level players aren't use to the idea of any kind of league format really, plus there's that whole group of high level players that have practically given up the game that we need to reach out to, we built this for many of them. So if you can reach out to some area players I'm sure Terry will appreciate it, I know I will ;)

Thanks for this also Diamond. Getting the players aware is definitely the key. I'm on the road to add the personal touch. We sent out nice invitations complete with fedex signature required but room owners get swamped daily with all kinds of mail and/or sales people, so me showing up to as many as possible really helps, though I can't be everywhere, what would happen to my son's golf game without me saying hit another 100 putts, lol.

So ALL help getting the word to area players to call and ask their local room if their in and if so reserve a spot is the key and much appreciated.
