attendance..IPT tournaments

When i started this post i was just curious about who would be attending is all. I did not want it to turn into a debate over the pro's and con's of the IPT. all i did was ask who will attend and if you thought it would be expensive. No knocking or anything in this post on my part... So what does somebody figure it will cost to go. and what do you figure it will cost a player to stay the whole time?....................mike

Mike, it would be very similar to the Joss Turning Stone Casino events. A player and a spectator is required to pay their own lodging, food, and travel costs.

Though the Joss Turning Stone Casino events are FREE for all spectators, the IPT charges $20 for the tickets to see the whole tournament in its entirety, with the exception of the finals. There is an additional $20 for the finals tickets.

If you were to go to Las Vegas, as an example, to attend the upcoming IPT event, depending on how long you desire to stay, since the tournament is 9 days long, the costs you incur for lodging, food, and travel can be done on the cheap as well as first class all the way. Vegas has a variety of places to sleep, eat, and be merry! :p

Last week, I booked my flights and room for the IPT event in Vegas, Sunday night through Friday night. I'm more interested in seeing the early parts of the tournament since it is almost guaranteed that there will be some intriguing match-ups during each set, especially if the snooker pros show up.

For the expense, hotel rooms can run pretty cheap during the week in the summer. If I remember correctly, you can stay at Harrah's for $49/night midweek without comps. Imperial Palace runs even less. That's a 5-minute walk to the Venetian. If you gamble, it does not take much play to get free room offers for the summer since it is considered the off-season.

It's a little trickier to find cheap airfare though and I'm paying $200+.
