Attn Arizona Players, azpoolscene.com back up!!!

This use to be Ron's website to report news, but obviously it was a little biased towards certain pool halls. And he needed to stop working on it to focus on Alexanders.

I have taken it over personally a few weeks ago to report all the pool happenings in Arizona.

The site will be changing each day and we're going to be adding all pool halls and bars across the state. Along with covering Arizona Players playing in other big tournaments.

Check it out and let me know what you think?

This sounds like a good idea, there are alot of tournaments happening all over the valley every night that no one knows about,it would be cool for the guys out there looking to run around to these little bar tourneys.

Thanks for the reply, I did check it out and it LOOKS BETTER, and has more information than (2) of the Arizona Billiards NEWSPAPERS.

Well Fast Lenny we got:

Billiard Table Talk, by Dr. Jack or as I like to call it Billiards Table Dancer Talk, where you can find Tournaments where you too can Play Pool with a STRIPPER.

Also we got the AZ Billiard Info that list like 70 Tournaments a Weeks, and does have the most Tournament listed. Plus the Monthly Extra Add Tournaments.

Plus we got The Valley Billiard News, with it UNIQUE SLANT of AZ Pool World, and it's NO BS Reporting Style.

Last WE GOT A GREAT REGIONAL NEWSPAPER called THE BREAK that sadly is only available in a Few Location across Arizona:( Think many of the Bar/Room Owner don't want the AZ player to see there are BIG MONRY ADD EVENT in Place like MOONTANA.:D :D

Tons of the tournament news provided in the papers you just mentioned are outdated, or just wishes of the pool rooms. Meaning, they would run these tournaments if people showed up.

What azpoolscene.com is trying to do is inform everyone of some of the larger events. Monthly Tournaments, Tours, Match-ups, Online Streaming by Lenny and/or TAR, etc.

And also provide a place to report on Arizona Players. A Who, What, Where and When of the players of Arizona.

If you have news that is pool related about Arizona players or pool rooms, please email it to me at azpoolscene@hotmail.com

Thanks!!!

AZPoolScene.com is back up and running!
Let me get this straight so I fully understand. You're announcing that this AZPoolScene.com is back up and running and it's the number one source of Arizona pool information. And you're announcing it on AZBilliards?

Fred <~~~ wonders if anyone else finds that completely ironic

Yep, it's not that puzzling.

AZBilliards is billiards news for the entire world. It use to be the news for Arizona a long time ago, but has sense grown big time.

Check out the site and you'll see what I mean. The stories and tournaments area all related to Arizona People, Bars, Pool Halls, etc. Even some of the same stories are posted on different sites, but azpoolscene's take is from the Arizona players side.

The site has been around for 3+ years, but had to take a 3 month layoff because the previous owner also owns one the best pool halls in the area. He needed to focus on saving his business.

AZPoolScene is a big supporter of the Desert Classic Tour, the AWBT, Arizona's State Championships, and many other yearly tournaments.

I have book marked the NEW Site, and may not need to read any more Hard Copy Newspapers if you can do what it is your are trying to do.

But I have to admitIi always get a bang out of Dr. Jack's Editorial, even though his paper is not out yet for July?

Stuckart is correct

I can see how Cornerman may be confused. It really may be confusing to those that do not live in Arizona and know the difference between the two sites. It is my understanding that AZbilliards.com was, at one time, a site that concentrated on Arizona pool. Obviously this site has, over the years, expanded way past Arizona pool to become what is arguably the number one pool related web site on the internet. These forums and their huge participation offer a strong example of how popular AZbilliards.com really is. At any time of any day you can log on here and see that you have joined 100's of others. Even at 3am in the morning. That is extremely impressive. But remember, this site covers pool WORLD wide.
About three years ago I started azpoolscene.com. My goal was to offer a web site that concentrated on Arizona pool. That is why I named it azpoolscene.com. The difference between the AZ's, in the two sites names, is: azbilliards.com has become billiards and pool from A to Z. World wide. While the AZ in azpoolscene.com stands for Arizona. When I started azpoolscene.com I made it very clear that I was not starting a web site to compete with AZbilliards.com. I was starting a web site for the pool players in Arizona.
I turned azpoolscene.com over to Mr. Stuckart about a month ago. He has made some major improvements on the site. The Azpoolscene.com site is designed and maintained for the enjoyment of the Arizona pool players and Arizona pool related info for the Arizona players. Comparing these two sites is like comparing General Motors to a local Chevy dealer in Arizona. General Motors is world wide while the Chevy dealer is here to service Arizona residents. With that said, do you think Mike H. (owner of Azbilliards.com) looks forward to the day when General Motors compares itself to AZbilliards.com? Could happen and hope it does.

I hope this clears things up.

In my opinion it was not biased at all...

I believe Ron openly announced that he would provide content and coverage from anyone that wanted thier information posted. He also announced he would provide links to other pool room web sites...

He was not going to go hunt down articles, coverage or content for other rooms since he did not have the time, but I doubt he refused to post any content that was provided to him.

It was not biased, it was just the information that was provided to him to post...

Seems to me like all he really did was provide an online service for Arizona Pool that was missing sine AZBilliards went International.

The advantages Stuckart has, as administrator of Azpoolscene.com, over the local Arizona pool newspapers are huge ones. A local Arizona pool paper comes out once a month with the baggage of printing and delivery cost. That means the news in that paper could be up to 30 days old. A web site can be updated in seconds and is MUCH cheaper to make available to the readers. Another advantage is not every Arizona pool player has one of the local pool pubs at home when he/she needs it. While, at the same time, most players have access to the web. That is why this azpoolscene.com web site is so important and why the Arizona players are fortunate Stuckart is keeping this valuable source available.

sorry

Cornerman, I apologize for assuming ironic meant confused. I guess it is kind of ironic. However, I am sort of glad I did make that mistake because it led me to my post about the differences between the two sites and gave me the opportunity to explain the difference. I wish Mike H. continued success with this site and I also wish the best for Jerry Stuckart with azpoolscene.com.

Well Stuckart as I finally got to look deep into your new web-site, I am curious if you are going to have a link to all the WEEKLY TOURNAMENTS with the Cost of Entry FEE, and Rating/Handicap. If it is on the site, please show the link.

Yes Coco, there will be a listing of this tournaments, once I have compiled a fresh list. Most of the 70 tournaments in the Arizona Billiards Info paper as old news, many of those tournaments don't exist.

I'm in the process of contacting all the establishments that want there tournaments listed. If you know of some places way out on your side of the town that want to be listed, please have them, or yourself, email the details to azpoolscene@hotmail.com.

As you know there are tons of bars/poolhalls in the state, so this task might take a little while. And I have only contacted some of the major places so far, and left messages with some others.

I appreciate anyones support of growing this site. As do the pool players of Arizona.

Thanks!
