Does anyone know any pool halls IN Atlanta? I'm talking about in the city. About all I could find Google-wise is a place called Playmakers and there's not really any info about that place either.
i'll be at mr. cues tomorrow and thursday i'll see if i can scare up some names. my sister works for an accounting firm down there and says there is a place with tables across from her office building. i'll ask her in the morning.

Got a lead on a Thursday night 8 Ball tournament at the Sportsline in Lawrenceville. Don't know what the entry fee is but it starts @ 8:45 pm. List updated. I think I'll go try my luck at the one-rack 9 ball tournament in Winder tonight, though. :grin:

I'm curious when you say within 1 hour, is traffic still incredibly bad around the loop? Does the one hour cover that or meaning if you are on the outside of the loop an hour from there?
i am not sure which post you're reffering to but i can say this - depends on time of day. the loop is horrible at the rush hours, so is 400, 85, 75, the connector, spaghetti junction. i can make it to cues on chamblee tucker off of 285 from alpharetta in ablut 35-40 mins if i leave around 5 using 400 and backroads. but overall the traffic here is no worse than miami or new york (i've lived in both) and at least they drive a LITTLE better here than miami. if i ever have to drive the 826 at rush hour again all bets are off, i might kill someone.
i doubt it. i don't remember anyone named willie and i've only been here a few years so i remember most of the guys i shoot with.

Just wanted to bump this thread and update the weekly events at the Marietta Billiard Club. Some changes in times ,handicap ,and entry fees are updated and posted .
1. Marietta Billiard Club Friday 8 pm $5 entry and Saturday 8 pm 8 ball $10 entry fee !!! (friday night c and d players only $100 added) (handicap)
2. Marietta Billiard Club Sundays 9 ball ....practice at 3:00 starts at 4:00 $5 entry fee $50 added per 16 players (handicap)
3. monday night at mr. cues II in chamblee. 9 ball, open, handicapped. i believe the entry fee is $20 and practice starts at 7:30
4. wednesday night at mr. cues II one pocket open handicapped and i believe the entry and practice starts are the same.
5. friday night mr. cues II 9 ball c and d players only handicapped and i believe the entry and practice times are the same as 1.
6. saturday night cues billiards in marietta. 9 ball handicapped $15 dollar entry fee practice starts at 7.
7. saturday 8 ball sweetwater billiards lawrenceville ,GA (time ? /call )
8. sunday afternoon 9 ball at mazzy's in alpharetta. but i am not sure about entries, races, start times, so forth.

I know this is for "weekly" tournaments but I wanted to know if there are any monthly tournament that take place on a regular basis in the area?
If so, we would like to be added to that list, if someone was gonna add that to the weekly list we would greatly appreciate it! The GSBT has one the 2nd Saturday of every month at:

I am in no way trying to hi-jack this thread I just wanted to make sure all of the local ATL crowd knew we were there every month. Had 62 in Feb., 38 March (SBE hurt b/c of amateur players) and hope to continue to build this tournament.
Thanks in advance if you are doing a monthly list as well.

I played in the Sweetwater Billiards 8 Ball tournament last night. 20 or more people were in it. They play double elim. race to 2 on both sides, loser racks, and if a guy plays a girl, he has to spot her a game. If she wins the first game, then he only has to go to 2 though. If HE wins the first game, he has to go to 3. That was a new one to me.
Seemed to be a little action going on afterward too...
I think it paid to 4th place, not that it did me any good! (I think I came in around 7th) Good times. :thumbup:
