Hi all,

I am working on a project involving putting together a nice slideshow for Grady. I need help from the pool community to obtain pictures or videos or audio of Grady. Without your help, It will be much harder to put something together. With your help, it can translate into a very nice memorial piece. So I humbly ask each and every one of you to help in getting together as many pics/videos or audio clips of Grady.

I have put together 3 methods of getting them to me. Time is of essence, so I ask that you try to get them to me ASAP. Hell, you can post them in this thread if you want.

Pictures - I"m looking for any and all pictures. It's ok if I get duplicates. I have put together a Gallery website that will have all of them there, so you can see what I have and don't have. Please send/upload the pics in as large as resolution as you can.. the small tiny pictures don't work well. The pictures I'm most seeking, are all those pictures that were taken of him, but have never been uploaded anywhere. Pictures you've taken, or your buddy has, or someone you know has a bunch of them. If you have pics that need scanned, please send them to me and I'll scan them and burn them to a DVD for you. BONUS: if you do this for me, send me as many picture files you have and I'll burn those for you too on the DVD.

Videos - Obviously there are videos on youtube and the like, if there are funny comments he makes (we all know there are plenty of those:D) while he's commentating, find them and email me the link and where the comment was made. Example: send me a link and then tell me it's a 14:24 or something like that. If any of you have videos that were taken by yourself or someone else you know of, but you don't know how to post them or their on VHS or something... send the tape to me and I'll convert it to a DVD and send it back, so you have your original and a DVD copy you can play in your DVD player. Nice way to get a free conversion out of me:smile:

If you have Accu-stats tapes/DVD's, if you find short clips of him saying something important/funny/memorable that would be good for a memorial piece, maybe you can record that audio clip with your phone or some other means and email the file to me. I will get with Pat Fleming and clear me being able to use short clips for this purpose. If you know of a match where he said something and you don't have it, send me the details and I'll try and find it.

Ok.. I've got 3 methods of you getting me your stuff. Use which ever one suits you. They're all 3 easy methods. Feel free to use one or several of them. Whatever easiest. I've worked hard at getting several options, so as to make it as easy on you as possible:D Or post them in this thread.. don't care as long as I can get to them.

1. email it to me at gradypics@oldpoolhall.com (keeping in mind I wouldn't try and send anything that has over 10 mb of files in the attachments) send multiple emails if you need to

2. go to this page and there is a button you click, it pops up with a window to select your files, click ok, you're done. This uploads files to my webserver. Click here to use this method

3. Upload to a Gallery page. This is a Gallery Install on my website where you can upload into a Gallery. This is where I will put all the pics as I get them, so everyone knows what I have and don't have. Below I have put a few screen shots to show how easy it is.

In a nutshell, you're going to login using
Username - grady
Password: grady

You're going to hold your mouse over the Album image and then move it to the Options, Choose Add Image, select all your images and then Click Done. Easy Peazy.:smile:

Please, Please.... help me with this. Contribute to something meaningful for Grady. Your help is greatly needed!

C'mon...there has to be more then 1 person out there that has a picture of Grady of has watched his videos he commentated on and laughed at something.

Something like this needs the contribution of the pool community.

I took that picture of Grady and Randi at the 2003 U.S. Open, I believe, subject to check.

I will send some if I can locate them on my other computer. :smile:
 
One more thing, Calired, if you get a hold of Pat Fleming, ask him about the X-rated Accu-Stats I have of Grady commentating Keith and Bushwhacker's match, if we can reproduce it.

I only found one on my phone of Grady and Randi, from a dinner a bunch of us had.

JAM, you are right on. That pic more than likely was at the US Open. I would say 2004 AND Friday night.

I'm not looking for pictures from the web, or videos from the web. Obviously they're already out there to snag. I do know how to use a search engine ya know:smile:

I'm looking for pictures that people may have that they have personally taken or that their friends or families have taken. Maybe ones from decades ago, that are sitting around.

On the videos, I know there's lots of videos out there, some where he is doing commentary and where he says some funny things that show that side of Grady. But obviously, I don't have time to sit and listen to every video out there and the 30 or 40 videos I have of him from Accu-stats.

That's why I'm asking for help from the pool community. Everyone probably remembers a tape or match, where Grady gave some zingers to Billy or Danny or someone. Or a match where he said something profound or something. So they already know what match it was and approximately where it was at in the match. They could go right to it.

But thanks for pointing me to the novel idea of doing a search for Grady Mathews:rolleyes: Sorry, but somehow I feel my intelligence has been insulted:smile:

Edit: If I come off a little harsh, it's not my intention. Just being in IT for the past 20 years and doing searches is a multiple occurence, every day task, having someone present the idea of doing a search for what I'm looking for, came off as incredulous to me.:smile:

So, I should have taken a minute, then responded with a simple....

"Of course I will be doing a search, ya dingleberry"

Thanks Mike.. I'll most certainly be using a few of those. You and Bill did a great job of preserving history and I really appreciate all the work that was done scanning all those in high resolution and labeling them.

We would have one helluva collection if many people each did that. The scanning at high resolution being the greatest part about that project you guys did. I hate when there's some fantastic photos found, but they're scanned at email size :smile:

Whoever from California uploaded 30 some pics yesterday at around 2:30, can you send me a email at gradypics@oldpoolhall.com and possibly give me some details on those pics. Like when and such. I notice you did label several of them already, but I am mostly looking for whoever did this. That was extremely kind of you and I really appreciate it very much and would like to thank you.

Overall, I am really disappointed in the lack of response to this post. I have had 3 or 4 people contribute something and a couple others that probably are working on it. I also have a few people that I can always count on to help, no matter what it involves. I will name those people in another thread.

(I wrote a few paragraphs on why I was disappointed, but just deleted them, as it never can be taken the right way.. I would have to deal with some getting defensive)

Thanks very much to the people that have helped. I really appreciate your contributions. These things take a incredible amount of time on my part to do, so your help is greatly appreciated.
