AUGUST 29 - SEPTEMBER 1, 2024TURNING STONE CLASSIC XXXIX 9-BALL OPENTURNING STONE RESORT CASINO

Exactly. I bet a ton of people would love to have as well a ran tournament as Zuglan does on their side of the country.

And maybe it's just me, but I enjoy watching the top shortstops in the area try their hands at a tournament like this, as there aren't many for them to go and play.
And the venue is the nicest I've ever been at. No admission fee and it's in a casino / resort! Gambling, good restaurants, and a fun place to walk around. Great tournament to play in and go watch. Someday I hope to donate my entry fee and plan on staying there the whole four days. Typically, Earl, Shane and Fedor all play along with Shaw so Saturday and Sundays are always world-class pool.

Unlike the Las Vegas chain casinos, they don't try to rip you off at every turn. Reasonable rates and friendly staff.

must be a very strong player to have beaten all of those players
You would think. And yet, he sucked badly at the US Open, lost his first two matches and was out.

Who did he lose to? Alexander Bausch, 9 to 4, and Martin Meintjes, 8-5.

You might ask, who are those guys?

Bausch, an American, is am amateur with a 717 Fargo apparently. Never heard of him or saw him before, but he did look pretty good. You would have thought he was the favorite.

Couldn't find any info on Meintjes, a Brit.

Perhaps Alnar suffered from jet lag or some such.

When he played well vs Gorst and Filler, Alnar showed a big and effective break. He also benefited from neither Filler nor Gorst playing well. Some of the worst matches I've seen from either.

Against Bausch, Alnar played like a chump. Go figure.
