Avatars, anyone else feel some are in poor taste?

If you use firefox, you can use the "ad blocker"

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10

and block individual avatars. I did it with Marissa's and I no longer see it.....but I see all the others.

Isn't Firefox great. :D :D

ohhh yea I forgot I could do that!

I owe you a rep point too!

*blocked*

I wish I could hack her account and make it say "<Insert Cleavage Tagline>" under the avatar, just for my own personal giggles

Once a rule is in place to prohibit such avatars, I will change mine. But as it stands, there are far more offensive avatars than mine. You can't have it one way, and not expect the other. While I don't find mine or smokes' offensive, they are both inappropriate for this forum, IMO.

did you block mine also? :)

No, I blocked Marissa's mainly to see if it worked in blocking individual avatars....... but then I thought since I have her on my "ignore" list, I might as well leave the avatar blocked to complete the package. :D :D

How's that whole "what *I* think is poor taste is what *everyone* should think is poor taste" thing going for many of you folks?

"I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it." - Voltaire

Actually, Voltaire never said that. This is the real quote:

"I detest what you write, but I would give my life to make it possible for you to continue to write."

-Voltaire :)

Eh, I did some googling and that was what I found, quoted in an article. I didn't know the exact quote syntax to search on. Still, you get the point. :D

In Marissa's defense, the forum rules do state the following:
"Although the administrators and moderators of AzBilliards Forums will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws."

IMO, if the moderators are not going to enforce the rules regarding sexually-oriented messages (and avatars), then they should remove the "sexually-oriented" clause from the forum rules.

Miss quote....if he did say it it would have sounded more like this:
"Monsieur l'abbé, je déteste ce que vous écrivez, mais je donnerai ma vie pour que vous puissiez continuer à écrire"
seeing as how he was french and all .....

yeah scott I get the meaining behind it
