Average Joe Question

"Average Joe" is a home recreational player (not a league player).

Joe walks into a room with 2 seamingly identical tables. He can play all night on the tables, but can not examine the tables.

From playabilibty of the table alone, can an average Joe determine that one table has 7/8" slate and the other 1" slate?

Average Joe might not even know that the table has slate. Efren probably won't know how thick the slate is.

That is a very tiny amount to notice. Only 1/8"? But the difference between a 2 inch slate and a 3/4 inch slate is night and day. Balls start bouncing on 3/4 inch slate because of the bigger vibrations. 1/2" slate the balls bounce off the table.

Not a chance, in-fact most billiards technicians wouldn't even know the difference in thickness unless they checked...LOL
