Awesome 18 Point Ned Morris Custom Cue -- Ebony & Ivory

See... my concern right now is that this weekend I recommended one of the cues on Ebay to a new friend of mine. He is trying to decide between two of Mike's cues. I just don't want to be wrong in my recommendation because of some sort of seller problems.

And why don't you just pay for the reserve prices? It will let you sleep better at night (since you will get the price you want) and keep this bad press from cropping up. Sheesh!

I have a list of customers a mile long that have had nothing but great buying experiences with me. I can provide numerous references from repeat customers. The recent negative feedback on eBay was contrived. The guy asked me to take the Carmeli back, and I offered to do so. The guy backed out of reselling me the cue. He then waited 27 days to leave negative feedback. Now that's very weak. This is my last post to this thread.

Isnt that the second time you misrepresented the same cue(Scues sent it back also after being hoodwinked)What the hell is reselling the cue back to you mean?? Does that mean what I think, you offered to take it back at a lower price and make some money? You still havent answered for your auction scams, use a reserve or get your own web page like others and stop the bull shit!! You like to pay with paypal but wont accepte credit cards like your auctions say because bank account paypal payments are much harder to get refunds but credit card payments are easy which the way you seem to operate could be a problem for a seller like you
LOL_L

Sounds like it was a weird transaction.... Why, if the guy was not satisfied, and Mike offered to take the cue back, did the guy not send it back?

Ok, I e-mailed the guy that bought the Carmeli cue and got his side of the story.

Evidently, he felt that since the cue was longer than the normal 58", its length should have been stated in the auction. He also found the shaft diameters to be 12.75 and 13, not 13 and 13. He then weighed the cue and found it to be 18.6/18.6 not 19.1/19.2. There was an agreement to have the cue shipped back, but they argued over the price and some joint protectors and the return was not made. The buyer has had Carmeli fix the length of the cue and he seems to be satisfied with the cue now.

So, there were some differences, but the guy ended up with a nice cue and is happy.

Just not sure what to make of this whole deal now. I guess we can watch what happens with Mike G.'s future Ebay auctions and feedback.

I have not retracted my recommendation from my friend regarding one of the current auctions, so let's see....

For crying out loud, will you please put a dent in this cue, take some pics and post them so we can all sleep tonight. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!!! Start with an apology to all AZ members and try to restore your reputation.

Hahaha! EJ, you crack me up! Dang... I laughed so hard I dropped my Richard Black and put a dent in it!

all this could have been avoided with a more specific details about returns. that's the seller's fault. measurement were inaccurate, although there WILL be fluctuations in weight. i think .6oz off is too much. once again seller's fault.

if nothing is specifically stated in terms and agreements, then "the customer is always right"

seller may be honest but he is irresponsible and should learn to cover his *ss.

Hi Mike.. pretty cue indeed. I hope that you and your family are well and
that you are all enjoying your new home. I have read some pretty pathetic things in this thread, and would just like to say how much I have enjoyed our transactions over the years. In my book you are an upstanding gentleman with quality products, and completely on the up & up, and know that we will work together in the future. Happy holidays to you and all your family.
Sincerely, Brett

Maybe the cue landed on the camera and busted it.

Brett:

Thanks for your very kind words. Brett, unlike all of the people (that don't even use their real names) who have been bashing me and who have never done a cue transaction with me, has done three transactions with me (two on the sell side and one on the buy side, if my memory serves me well). In fact, Brett shipped me an $1,850.00 Capone cue on my word that he would be paid, and in fact he was paid with a personal check. My check to him was delivered after his cue was received by me. The people that having been bashing me and Quality Cues on this thread have no first-hand personal knowledge of how I conduct cue sales and trades. Yet they feel compelled to chime in as if they know who I am and what I do. They call that ignorance, and apparently, there are a lot of ignorant people out there. The guy that posted the only negative feedback for me ever (and I mean EVER) on eBay is full of s _ - t. He claims that I gave him inaccurate measurements. That is pure BS. I weigh every cue at the U.S. Post Office or at work on a digital scale. I check the shaft diameters of every cue that I sell with a digital micrometer. Digital scales and micrometers don't lie, and I don't misreport the data that I get from these machines. The cue that is the subject of the negative feedback on eBay I agreed to buy back at that BUYER'S PRICE of $925.00, but the deal feel apart because I did not want to buy back a set of delrin joint protectors for $8.00. The guy ultimately decided to keep the cue, and apparently now has customized the cue to his specs and is happy with it. He bought the Carmeli cue for $126.00 cheaper than I paid for the cue in May 2005. It does not get any better than that because I rarely, if ever, pay too much for a cue. The Carmeli cue was perfect!!! End of story. Why did the guy wait 4 weeks to leave me negative feedback. If I was going to post negative feedback, I sure as hell would not wait 4 weeks to do it. That's incredibly lame. How many of the Quality Cue bashers on this thread can say that they have sold as many as 9 cues to the same customer for a total sales price of $17,000+? My guess is none. Well, I have, and many other customers of Quality Cues have bought more than 2 cues from me. Ask yourself "why?" The answer is that nobody, and I mean nobody, can offer the Quality Cues that I market on a daily basis for anywhere near the prices that I sell at. I have next to no overhead, and work on margins of between 3 and 8%. Because I buy at the lowest possible prices, I sell at prices that give other cue dealers heartburn. In fact, many of the most reputable cue dealers in the U.S. have purchased cues from me, and none have ever lodged a complaint or asked me to take a cue back. To the contrary, these same people stepped up and went to bat for me last month when a thread was started inquiring who Mike Gartland and Quality Cues were. The only reason that I posted again to this thread is to thank Brett for his very kind words and vote of confidence. This truly is my last post to this pitiful Quality Cue bashing thread.

Best to all (even you Quality Cue bashers) with respect to the coming holiday season and in the new year!!!

If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem. YOU are part of the problem with eBay.

You on eBay:
"Up for auction is a BRAND NEW/NEVER CHALKED"

You on eBay:
"Neither shaft has ever been chalked or played with."

You on this forum:
"After having too many beers last night, I pulled the Morris out and played with it. The cue was leaning against a wall when I accidently knocked it over. It hit a table and has a bid <sic> ding in it"

You waited to leave feedback for someone who paid you until after seeing what feedback they left you. You can't keep slinging the "waited four weeks" accusation because you're even more guilty of being a feedback abuser, not to mention being just plain shifty.

Since you're such an upstanding and honest businessman, when will you be puling this part of your auctions? "buy from a seller with a 100% positive feedback rating"

85.7<100
truth>you
integrity>you
