If I was a room owner I would not only have it on every screen in the house but would be promoting the snot out of the fact.

This makes sense to me. I know that when I watch pros playing a sport I myself participate in, I get all psyched up to play right after the event is over.

I wonder if some people are too spoiled from all the free streaming of pool to want to spend money on it? (The OP asked if there would be a free stream.)

I sincerely hope that Accustats makes money on this production. I have patronized Pat's business for many years, and I have been very happy with the way he does business. A real nice guy and first class operation.

My thoughts exactly! The next untapped market for pool streaming is to bring these premium events to the local pool hall/bar.

What we need right now is the internet equivalent of the TV Guide for pool, so a room owner doesn't have to hunt around to find streams.

The live stream forum is a good starting point, but its not organized like a calendar where you can look up a date, and see the available streams.

Exactly, ESPN rarely show pool during prime time hours because they can get more money for commercials showing other sports. We may be a niche market, however it looks like we have a loyal following. I think online streaming is the best broadcast method right now to directly reach viewers. What we need is a centralized and easy way to find streams, a pool video TV Guide for starters.

We have the Live Stream Forum as a starting point. For a calendar to work, all we need is the name of the stream, the link, and starting/ending broadcast time. Calendar system will also take care of calculating time zones. We have enough confusion with Eastern, Central, and Pacific, let alone trying to figure out when a stream starts in the Philipines, China, or UAE.

A quick click of the link at my signature will get you a few streams. There is an "Upcoming Event" feature option for broadcasters on Ustream. The problem is, most do not use it or keep it up-to-date. If they did, we would have exactly what you seek! The "Remind Me" feature works good!

AZ has lots of foot traffic, and having a centralize calendar here is a perfect venue for live streamer to get word out about his/her events.

Right now, AZ had a Public Calendar for listing birthdays. Maybe the moderators of this board could look into creating a separate one for Live Steam broadcast dates. Paraphrasing Field of Dreams, if we build a Calendar then they will post.

If you follow the instructions on that thread it will sure help your stream fix -- you may not know ahead of time in every case but you will at least know what is live when you turn on your computer!

I believe, although a great idea and something that is needed, this would be an administrative nightmare -- at least for those streams broadcasted on Ustream. The broadcasters "themselves" do not use (or misuse) the aforementioned "Upcoming Event" (UE) feature. If they did (use it and use it properly), more people would be aware of their stream and be notified/reminded if they clicked the "Remind Me" button. Unfortunately a good portion of those "few" that do use the UE feature wait until the 11th hour to do so and the word does not have time to spread. Others have good intentions and announce a tournament every Tuesday (<--as an example) then give up streaming for one reason or another and don't change their management settings to reflect that and recurring notices keep going out for a nonexistent stream. This has led people to ignore all UE notices and totally relying on their Dashboards (see instructions at the link in my signature).

Until all broadcasters start utilizing the UE feature and using it correctly, there is no way for even AZ to keep it current/accurate. I don't see that realistically happening.
