Awesome Match

Great Match!!! He under stroked the 4, Table Roll got him for a more difficult shot on the 5 to the corner.

OK, so this may be a dumb question but...

In the first game, when he's on the 9 and the cue ball is against the rail he jacks up a bit. I am assuming that is to hit the cue lower for more of a soft stop shot, preventing it from coming off the side rail as much. (I could be wrong about that) However, I thought not having your cue level could affect accuracy too.

For those of us that aren't top pros, would it be better to keep a level cue and be more accurate on rail shots like that than it would be to jack up and stop the ball?

And yes, I know it would be better not to leave yourself on the rail for the last shot but even Shane did it so it's going to happen.

I think he's just more comfortable with his accuracy being able to hit a little more of the cueball on that shot.

Wonder why he shaped the short side of the 5. Thought he would draw a little more to the long rail and shoot the short shot.

The angle wouldn't allow for it without a firm stroke and possibly losing the angle for the next shot. Best to finesse the shot to the short side.
