AZB Lottery

This thought just flashed into my mind, and maybe it's too much of a logistical nightmare but what if....

...we started an AZB lottery pool. Everyone who wants to participate throws in $2 a week and someone collects the money, buys the tickets and posts the numbers (or better yet, a good scan of the tickets).

What prompted this thought was all the talk about how the economy is making it so hard for players. And how I would love to win the lottery and host one, if not a whole slew of big tournaments. So if AZB happened to win, half the money could go to something like this and the other half split evenly between the participants. And, yeah it's a huge longshot, but it would get pool some attention for a few minutes if it happened!

Just an idea... would take quite a bit of working out the kinks. But I'm in for $2/week.

You're right it could possibly be a logistical nightmare, however, if there's some way to "escrow" it and hammer out the details I would be in for $2 twice a week for the Wednesday and Saturday drawings.

Even if we didn't win, a story about a rag tag bunch of pool players trying to provide a much needed influx to the game that they love would be a great byline for a reporter somewhere.

I believe this would be illegal. Setting up an internet lottery would be like setting up your own numbers racket. I don't believe the government would think too highly of it.

Huh? I was talking about doing what groups of people do all over the country already. We would be buying Powerball tickets with money that was pooled together from whoever wanted to be involved, not creating our own lottery.

im in!!

i would be interested. i dont think it would be too bad, have a start day and and end day. say end by Tuesday and Friday night, u must send money and post, a list is generated every wed and sat morning.

Im in

Let me know if ever gets started, I would be interested if it could be set up right.

Shit I spend about $20-40 a week on scratch tickets...I can obviously cut out $2 out of that for this if it is set up in an "honest way" lol.
