AZB Player Rank: What Does This Mean?

How are they coming up with these numbers? I look at some of them and I just can't believe my eyes. Here's a good example, me!

Currently, I'm ranked 883 and players from all over the world are on this list.

I'd be willing to wager there are 100,000+ people that would be willing to swim a river of poop soup to play me some.

There are only two cashes on there and one of them was an amateur event! OOOH! I'M SO BAD! [/end sarcasm]

Why am I ranked so high? How are they getting these numbers? Is it just based on the few tournaments that happen to be turned into AZ? What percentage of tournaments are turned into AZ?

Hell, how does this all work? Does the TD send something into AZ after every tournament?

I'm just confused and curious.

It is based on the # of hits your name gets on search engines and web sites. I asked the same thing when they had me in the top 50. Trust me when I say I'm not top 1,000 or maybe 10,000:grin:

Are you serious? You have to be kidding? If not, that's funny.

So wouldn't people with common names make the top of the list? Why isn't "Mark Smith" the #1 player?

Lol. I think that it either has to be a billiards related search, or just the number of times your name comes up on billiard websites. I am not entirely sure how it is done, but I do know that it has relatively nothing to do with ability or finishes, other than when the finishes are reported to az or a similar site. I am kinda surprised no one else that really knows how they do it has answered.................

You got me curious so I just checked........I am ranked like # 1020 or so. I play so ungodly bad that there are that many homeless kids in Manila that would love a shot at me. I don't really know how the rankings work but I can't play dead in a mexican western so my being ranked so high is kinda funny.
