On the AZB homepage, if you click on "players" there is another area that says "AZB Player Rankings". What the heck is that? How long has it been there? Surely that is not a players ranking system based on skill level, is it? It can't be our official AZB Ranking of players based on most skillful / best on down, is it???
The reason I'm asking is that I accidentally found it while looking for something else. Much to my chagrin, I noticed Jennifer Barretta listed #5 overall, as in over every other player in the world but 4. And who is Miyuki Sakai? I know who she is, but WHY is she listed so high? I didn't see an explaination of the rankings, ie, what they are ranked based on. But, there can be no way these two very talented women can be rated over Ching Shun Yang, Chia Ching Wu, Ralf Souquet, Thorten Hohmann, Ronnie Alcano, etc.
If this is like a money list of some sort or a ranking based on commercials seen in or movies they have appeared in, or # of autographs signed this year, then I can better understand what this is. But as of right now, I'm bamboozeled. If this has been explained somewhere else on our venerable site, I apologize for not seeing or reading that thread.
